Can we trade this deal in and instead go back to no commercials on prime video?

Food delivery services are so overpriced nowadays. I signed up for grubhub+ through prime, then Uber one through capital one just for not using it even once. Total order always end up 30% more expensive then picking up yourself.

I signed up for this a few years back and cancelled it within a few weeks. Prices on grubhub and similar sites are sooo incredibly inflated, it just promotes putting a larger dent in your wallet.

Google or use the search function on slickdeals. It's really not that hard and the "slickdeal" way has been explained numerous times in the past. And if you're lazy, then well I can't help you. Here's a hint, look at my post on page 6.
Found your relevant post #84. https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=169706628&postcount=84
Reps. I will return your help favor with a tip for using SD. I asked since you brought up the potential and are obviously in the know. I like to help others learn too. I appreciate your post with the details. Good stuff.

TIP: You can edit the number of posts you view per page. Your post was on page 2 for me. This is page 3. You can view up to 45 per page.
The setting is found:
From your profile page> Settings and Options (from the tabs)>Edit Options (from the tabs)>Scroll down to Number of Posts to Show Per Page>edit and then scroll to the bottom to save changes.

Why would you want to do this? To save you reload time and clicking effort changing pages so often. A post number (better) or an actual link (best) to the post is more helpful than a page number, which may or may not match up for another user with different page view settings. Even post numbers change if/when a mod removes posts before it. I hope I have helped you, and/or someone else with this tip. I share this frequently when it comes up.
Peace

TBH, they gave a clue that got me the info. Unlike many here who never answer a cry for help. The relevant post is #84 BTW. Here is a link in case the post number changes (it happens when mods remove posts).

If we wanted commercials, we wouldn't be forking over $150 per year to a greedy company swimming in cash. Adios Amazon prime

I had free grubhub+ from Amazon for over 8 month but everytime I try to use it the service fee and markup for menu items scared me away.
But it's super free.. after menu prices are jacked up 40%

I have seen Grubhub prices are always 10 -15 % more than already hyped prices on DD or Uber , apart from all extra fees
All these companies run a scam like the hotels and their "resort fee" nonsense. What appears to be a reasonable deal when you compare options ends up committing you to being screwed if you pull the trigger. These delivery companies are already creating a situation where online menus on the restaurant site are jacked up to reflect the Uber etc. price rather than what they really charge when you pick it up or eat there yourself. Since government regulations on these scams are so thin, and even then the regulators are often told to ignore violations, in the long run only people who have no clue how money works will be their customers.

I have no problem with a delivery service that charges me the actual price on the actual restaurant menu, is honest about add-on charges, treats drivers as employees so they have a stake in the game, and allows me to tip appropriately direct to the employee. But all these scammy fees and phony prices and drivers who know damn well their precarity adds up to a solid "no" on considering them. Perhaps with two broken legs and zero in the cupboard, but then again maybe fasting is better.

I've already used the free Grubhub membership thanks to Amazon twice now. I was previously able to cancel my plus membership then sign up again through the Amazon deal in order to effectively extend my subscription. Does anyone know if that still works?
My current subscription expires in may and trying to decide if it's worth canceling and extending.

It's $139 which is roughly the gas for 50 trips to the store where they don't actually have the item you need or it's out of stock. Not to mention the time you wasted. Prime Video is just an add on, no one's buying it for that. Prime for the win.

Very true. Only company I've found that doesn't have increased prices is chic fil a. Everyone I've ordered from I checked their official app for the location I was uber/grub/dash and it matched the app. Basically the only thing I order from any of these services with amex monthly credits and chase monthly credits.

Those menu prices for delivery are set by the restaurants. The ones that bump menu item prices higher for delivery often do that to recoup some of their per order cut to GH/UE/DD. The cut goes towards credit card processing, advertising, staff, operating costs, and profits. For GH, it usually starts at 30%, but restaurants can (and should) negotiate it. Since it's not 30% for all restaurants (because of negotiating), they all tack on fees to cover their revenue too, which gets complicated in locales with fee caps and gig worker wage ramps.

I'm not saying they don't try to soak diners, but it's not as nefarious as some of the posts on here make it out to be. They're for-profit businesses and will try to get as much money as the market will bear.

use GH, uber eats and door dash the "slickdeal" way and you'll save.
Door dash is 30% more too! These services are so for a reduction…it's like they want to make the extra % because food costs are up…

Yea this…. I had sticker shock when I got the bill and the. There's a deserved tip for the driver…. Pretty much doubles the price.

I have AMEX Gold Business, which gives $20/mo credit for Grubhub purchases. Having GH+ is useful for me. I believe AMEX Gold person also has $10/mo credit on GH.

PM me, if you need referral for AMEX Gold
