Had two different phones, first one DEVELOPED the problem, forgot what model it was, like an A-something, second one was the S21 FE, always gave trouble charging. I have a whole ton of USB-C stuff, work in schools and charge Chromebooks all day. Samsung is cheaping out or incompetent in some way.

FWIW, I have both a Note 20 Ultra and S24 Ultra. Both charge via USB just fine. Note 20 is 3.5 years old.

This is a question and not a comment on this particular deal. My almost 14 yo wants a new phone for his bday and is hell bent on staying with a Samsung. Which version is my best bang for my buck right now knowing that he'll keep this one for at least 2-3 years? He's a gamer so it needs to be powerful enough for Fortnite, BrawlStars, and whatever else they're playing now. ETA: I would prefer to stay around the $500 range, unlocked phone.

The S23FE (fan edition) can be had new & unlocked for close to $500. It will get 4 years of OS & 5 years security updates.

If you don't mind buying a used device, Swappa is a great place to look.

Unlocked prices for a newly released phone, i think its alright. You can always take a chance with a Swapap devices, despite having good results in the past, i rather have a full warranty and return if needed policy. Repped
