This is a question and not a comment on this particular deal. My almost 14 yo wants a new phone for his bday and is hell bent on staying with a Samsung. Which version is my best bang for my buck right now knowing that he'll keep this one for at least 2-3 years? He's a gamer so it needs to be powerful enough for Fortnite, BrawlStars, and whatever else they're playing now. ETA: I would prefer to stay around the $500 range, unlocked phone.
You can probably check out this thread and get an ATT s23 version for ~$400, which can be unlocked instantly with a little bit of work..

What's up with the Samsung USB-C ports? My last phone gave so much trouble to charge wired. My S21 FE now has NEVER charged wired. Whenever I do, it won't charge. Very annoying on the road when wirelessly charging is problematic. It's almost a dealbreaker and enough to make me buy another brand.
Taking it to a nearby ubreakifix shop would be much more useful than your rant here that has provided no valuable information so far.

On a side note, if you go with Samsung trade in take plenty of pics boxing and sending off the phone. There are numerous stories of Samsung denying trade ins.

Solid advice, also check if you live near one of the 3 (?) Samsung stores in the states. They do the trade in immediately.

Absolutely hilarious hearing terrible advice from little kids online.

I literally drove 30 minutes to another city to do that. And the guy basically did the same thing everyone says on every board. It worked for a little bit and went back to having the same issues again.

Like I said, I work in schools. Kids abuse their Chromebooks, drink by it, throw it around, the ports all charge easily. I do it in multiple classrooms everyday. Why the heck does a phone have so many issues charging? It's almost like it's intentional.

I never see the Iphones having problems charging either. I have seen many teachers with wireless Samsung chargers that have them. I think that speaks volumes.

Like do you work for Samsung? Why do you act like they're writing your paychecks? Seriously bro.

FWIW, I've had half a dozen Samsung phones, with zero charging problems including S24plus
