Who wears hoods while running unless you're filming a montage scene for Rocky 2?
in my experience these things are mostly preference when it comes to running jackets. a hood can be an annoyance when it's flopping around and causing drag while running, a lot of people prefer some kind of skull cap in inclement weather. thumbholes i can see the appeal but i have some jackets with thumb holes and i don't actually end up using them most of the time. the extra fabric used to accommodate the thumbhole just bunches around my wrists. and the kangaroo front pocket is pretty standard in a lot of sportswear, provides extra storage space for essentials when you're running far from home

How is this a running jacket? No hood for when it rains. No thumb holes. And what's with the kangaroo front pocket? To warm your hands after your run?

Paying $40 "on sale" for something rated 3 stars, or buy something awesome on Poshmark/ebay EUC? Hmm

It would be nice to have a tight fitting hood to protect against the elements

You forgot the part that it's made from recycled garbage on sale for $40. Not even joking it's really made from recycled garbage.
