Idk if this is the same as the nest but if it is you can't split the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands easily/at all.

The nest mesh came with my mom's Google Fiber and we had to switch her back to the Velop system she had before because of that stupid reason. It matters if you have a lot of IOT devices that only support 2.4ghz. The network may or may not be smart enough to put them on 2.4ghz, in her experience they'd keep disconnecting from it.

Much better choice - expect ownership reports from the HD clearance thread indicated that first gen model was very reliable. Since my Eero seems to be randomly crapping the bed, reliability has shot to the forefront of our house desire.

Yes, it definitely is. "AC" is WiFi 5. "AX" is WiFi 6.

Depending on uses, it may not matter. But WiFi 6 is better able to handle a large number of devices; WiFi 6 router can communicate with many devices at once, WiFi 5 router can only do one at a time. It rotates very quickly, so it may not be perceptible for humans, but may be important for people who have a lot of devices (e.g. lot of smart home switches or devices, etc.)

What eero version do you have that craps the bed?

I had pro and pro 6e and both solid - hoping none of those as I recommended to others who also report solid mesh

I know if you're doing PCVR and streaming it over WiFi it's recommended with WiFi 6. Do you know if WiFi 6e makes a big difference or better in what way?

You can but I would spend a few dollars more and get the AC2200 models .. which have been going on sale for 49.

Mine are the 6+ version. Rock solid for a year, then suddenly the whole house gets 1/10s of a meg upload speed (including wired) when ISP speeds show 40meg up. Router definitely failing.
