B&H for the next 14 days offer four sizes of variable neutral density filters that screw onto the ends of your lenses for attenuating light exposure, controlling depth of field, holding shutter speed steady, etc. Tiffen's are surprisingly well rated in comparison to much more expensive options. The final prices start at $45 for the 67mm model, after an in-cart automatic coupon starting at $50, and a $20-25 mail-in-rebate.

FYI, instead of buying filters for every lens, you can buy one for the largest filter size lens you have and then us step-up rings to adapt the big filter to smaller lenses.

It's kinda awkward having a big filter on the end of a small lens, but it's cheaper than buying all sizes of filters and carrying all those around. Variable ND is more of a specialized use, so you likely won't be walking around all over with this attached anyway.

82mm variable ND in this deal is 174 - 90 digital coupon - 25 mail in rebate = $59

Not a bad idea, but don't go buying arbitrary sizes. Else one will look clownish trying to adapt 82mm to 49mm. Also, step-up rings easily become stuck-on rings if not careful.

Rebate is still on but the digital coupon is no longer offered so the deal is mostly dead.
