I'm not sure why you're stuck on it being a purpose built cloud gaming device.
Because that is what the G Cloud is? Crazy wanting to keep things on topic.

Something like the Odin / Odin 2 / RG556 are a lot more versatile and can run all of the cloud gaming apps in addition to emulation.
But not at this price point. Full stop. But yes, if you spend double you can generally get something more capable.

Notice my goalposts don't need to be in the parking lot to make my point? Again, I'm talking ONLY cloud gaming...not emulation, vacuuming, or k-cups. shake head

Again, at a <$200 price point it's a much better proposition.
Free would be better but some of us are stuck living in reality.

Yes, at this price point. The Odin Pro is $200. The Odin 2 is $300. The RG556 is $185. Goal posts haven't moved, as I said "At the 200-300 price point" in my original response.

Again, there's just better options in that price range unless you're dead set on this exact device.

My experience with the Steam Deck and cloud gaming / steaming is a hot mess (not talking about Steam remote play, that is the jam). Your can make it work but it is far from streamlined. If cloud gaming is the only reason you want to buy a handheld it makes zero sense to pay MORE for the Steam Deck which will do it much worse. But if you want a device that cloud games okay-ish and does a bunch of other stuff extremely well then the upcharge for the SD is an easy choice.

In my opinion this is the best choice if you want to truly cloud game with subscription based services. Not talking about any other use case.

For flights I would run far far far away from this or any other streaming gaming device. You want locally installed games. The lag, connection drops, etc will make anything cloud based unplayable.

Thanks, I think the slickdealer got the better of me and I was trying to see this as a good budget choice

Isn't the Pro $270? However I do admit I thought the Odin 2 was still $400-ish. $300 is much better.....regardless and AGAIN, why spend more money on features I am not talking about? So you can sleep better at night knowing I paid more on a bell or whistle I'll never utilize for a less capable device for the single purpose we are discussing?

"Look mom, it can emulate a game I do not care about playing! My internet friend will be so happy I spent what amounts to a nice steak dinner for a feature I'll never ever ever use! Yay!! Go team!!"

And the level of support you are likely to get from that device is probably why. Apples and oranges. Now, not saying the RG556 isn't neat. But comparing a Logitech and to a shows up from overseas android device is hardly comparable. But if you enjoy tinkering it is probably great. Most people buying purpose built devices do NOT want to tinker...so back to the original point Wink

Perhaps different goalposts on the same field. Both of use are talking about football, one of us spells it fútbol though.

How much sleep do you lose worrying about which gaming device I enjoy? LOL...the absurdity.

P.S. if it makes you feel better I can give you my paypal. Since you seem to be so interested in what I buy / own it only seems fair you contribute towards the purchases.

if you ONLY stream ps remote play then you can argue the ps portal is a better buy at $200. But if you plan to do anything else along with ps remote play (using psplay), such as Xbox, Android gaming, emulation, etc. then $250 for a new GCloud is great. Better joysticks than the kishi and backbone too fwiw.

This isn't about you, people are talking about the silly device posted here and your bringing up k-cups and your PayPal.

Chill out 😜

OP seems to be personally offended that their use case might be a bit unique.

It's certainly not a bad product at all. $250 is just priced a bit too high for the specs it has in comparison to all the other Android gaming tablets out there, especially when it was $180-200 a few months back. It's completely fair to bring up those alternates in the same discussion given they can do the exact same thing this can for more or less the same price.

No Wi-Fi = no device. Please consider a steam deck, an actual computer that works without Wi-Fi and can be bought for slightly less refurbished

What have you added to the discussion or did you only come here to insult me? Wait, we know the answer.

Perhaps someone needs a k-cup as clearly they are a little cranky"😜

So unique that you are commenting on a device that was designed around that use case! And you admitted at a certain price point it even had a place? The irony.

If you do not see the use in this item perhaps you do not need to troll the comment section every time it is posted? Or are you personally offended by Logitech products?

I think you lack the ability to admit this isn't a good price ( given it was cheaper and this is slickdeals after all) and your very first post highlights that you aren't even open to a discussion that better or cheaper alternates are available.

I'm not sure why you are so dead set on this. That's great that you enjoy it for what it is. But other potential buyers who see it have every right to know the limits that the device has.

That said, perhaps you're the one trolling. You spend time shooting down what everyone said in multiple threads and resort to coffee and football comparisons because you don't actually have a good response.

I'll stand by exactly what I said at the beginning: at $250 there are better Android gaming devices out there that can do everything this can do and more.

Mirrors are on aisle 12, you might want to look into one.

So much commentaries. I am looking at Microsoft. When everyone else has made a portable for their device, where are they? They may have tanked the software side, but they were suppose to be good at the hardware side. Whats up with that? Microsoft is the only one without an official handheld announcement.

I'm here to once again pronounce my absolute hatred for this console! What did mankind do to be punished with such a nice Logitech handheld crippled by what must be none other than the worlds slowest processor? Such is an abomination worse than the original Intel Celery, I say! I want a Logitech Android handheld with a good processor, not this crime against humanity!
