Just noticing some of the specs in the OP's post may not be accurate. It does not have RGB keyboard lighting -- it's just normal backlit keyboard. Also the model number listed is for the i7 model. This i9 model is a Q540.

It's no MacBook Air.

That said, reducing screen brightness and having power settings on Balanced I get about 4 hours of YT video. I also have the Intel GPU set as the default. Whether it's for you depends how often you think you will be away from power. You can also get a power bank (relatively inexpensive) that you can carry with you and will fully recharge the Asus. This [a.co] is the one I have and it is currently $28.99 after clicking all the discounts! Crazy low for a 130W 25000mAh power bank with LCD. Just bought another!

Great laptop (I bought one last go 'round). FWIW, it has 2 PCIe Gen 4 SSD slots and the single SODIMM memory slot can take at least a 32GB module (for 40GB total).

Bought this last time around when it was even cheaper ($765.99 for Open Box Excellent; New ones were $100 more than now at the time ($999.99) before New prices jumped back to $1,299 before this deal).

Like Hat-Trick, I upgraded to 40GB of RAM. I also added a 1TB second SSD. Went with 1TB (as opposed to 2TB) since I use several other (external) drives for my larger downloads. Also most 2TB drives have skyrocketed since Dec (when I bought two 2TB 980 Pro drives on sale for $98 each).

Great laptop! I listed all the Pros in the old thread.

The main downside (other than "only" having an RTX 3050 - I do not game and already have a powerful 1 year old desktop, so not an issue for me), is that it is a fingerprint magnet (like most black laptops).

To round out the accessories I bought an Anker 737 24K Powercore powerbank on sale for $90 and an Anker 736 Nano sized 100W charger for ~$45.
I already had a 16" QHD portable USB-C monitor for multi tasking when working away from home.

I wish I could say for certain, but Thunderbolt means power delivery (I.e. charging via usb c) like 99% of the time, maybe even 100%.

Worse. This is a desktop laptop. Performance wise it was the only I9 I ever tested and it didn't seem anything special. It tends to get warm. The battery in this is like a laptop from 20 years ago. It drains so fast you won't believe it.

100% for certain you can. Takes almost 100W in for charging in the USB-C ports (both).

It's an OLED display with an i9 processor and a discrete GPU. Did you expect 8 hours battery life? Those specs, alone, tells you it doesn't sip power. But you can configure power settings for your needs and get decent battery runtime.
