We are lucky enough to have an employeer that cares about spreading disease and are lucky enough to have the ability to work from home. One of my coworkers is currently working from home because he is sick and I appreciate him for it.

There are already tons of people saying all these free kits are wasteful spending from the government. It would have been even more wasteful if government overstocks every year in preparation for the unexpected outbreak that never happens. It is very hard for the scientists to predict what Omicron would have done. Once again we have JN.1 taking over and becoming the most dominant COVID in just two months. So what should the government do? Overstock testing kits in preparation for 2022-ish year?

People that are sick generally go to the doctors not an in home test. Maybe your work takes an in home test as the gospel I don't know
And glad for it
Oh feel free to reimburse me then

An $8 test is a lot less than a $150 doctor's visit. It's also a whole lot cheaper than the potential costs of infecting a recovering mother and her infant.
There's nothing difficult about this. If you're sick, you should always increase your distance from others to prevent making them sick. If you know you have COVID, you know to be extra cautious. You go to the doctor depending upon the severity of your individual response. It has not been recommended to rush to the doctor if your symptoms are manageable.
