Do I remember correctly that a 2nd camera is covered under the initial ring subscription service? Or does it require an additional monthly cost?

Damn, i guess that option is no longer available.

They have different levels. The basic covers 1, which is good for people who only have a doorbell or something. The next 2 plans cover all devices. I need to look into it, but many people say they get the $100 a year pretty much covered by their house insurance discount for having a camera security system.

I picked up the battery version of the Certified Refurbished Ring Spotlight Cam Plus for $115 when Amazon had those on sale a week or two ago.

Is the Plus model worth 2x or should I return and go with these models?

These don't have a light like the Spotlight model if that's important to you.

The first battery cycle on mine was pretty short - around 2 weeks. I think it was because it may have been updating and/or the motion settings might have been too sensitive.

After that short first cycle and fine tuning the motion zones I consistently get about 2-3 months from fully charged to the "charge battery" warning that triggers at 30%.

Highly recommended to get a spare battery to keep charged so you can quickly swap them out when needed, since it takes a few hours to charge a battery from ~30% to full. Otherwise, if your install location gets decent sun you can also get a solar panel to keep it charged.

These work fine without a spotlight but if you really need one my suggestion is to do what I did and buy those cheap Chinese solar panel spotlights. I have 3 of those spotlights around my front yard and it was half the price of this camera and definitely not worth a $100 upgrade for the Ring Spotlight Cam.
