Yes, that's exactly it. There's no issue, you just say you want to return the "free" battery, which has a $$ amount attached on the receipt ($57.06 on this particular deal).
Even easier, do ship to store, and ship the battery to a different store. Then just don't pick it up.

I've seen others report that they've gotten messages that the item sent to another store was marked as "picked up" instead of cancelled. I don't mind walking back in and returning it after I pick it up, or returning it after having it delivered.
Repped, thanks. Store made me take refund on a store credit. I had used some gift cards, but also put enough on my credit card to cover the refund value of the battery. Oh well, I'm sure I'll spend the 57 plus tax on some future item. Possibly a cheaper battery deal
I felt bad returning the battery but I've given so much money to home depot that I think it's ok that just this once I'm gonna play the system. $100 for the miter is too good, plus I get a free jigsaw! Loving the miter, its perfect for what I need it to do.
