you need new modem (new MAC address) whether you're own or rent modem that haven't been activated yet in their system. I owned 2 modems so I can switch for sign up the new account. You can buy the open box at Amazon which is cheaper for the 150 Mbps plan.

I randomly got an email from them saying as a great customer, we've doubled your internet speed for free. Not sure what the hidden catch is. My original plan is 400 mbps for $29.99

I just got gig speed in December for $60 a month. I opted not to use their equipment because I didn't want the hassle of returning it once they start charging for it after 2 years, but I also gave up free unlimited data by not getting their gear.

I wish I had either signed up for a slower speed for less money or had taken their free rental on equipment - having gig speed with a 1.2 TB data cap is honestly a complete waste.

It's across the board for all tiers and for everyone. The minimum now is 150mbps (which was 75 before) as this thread is

That is not true. Can you can simply activate the MAC address of your existing modem on the new account via the app. It takes 2-3 minutes.

I am paying more for existing xfinity internet plan around 84$ so ordered using this deal in my wife's name. But when I visited the store for verification they told I need to pay 110 to break my existing contract ☹️ Please help me out if there is any way around this ?
