That's a shame =/.

First time seeing a hub with Built in storage though, kinda cool.

I'm thinking it might work well with my Google TV 4k. Extra 256gb storage that's built in. I wouldn't have to have anything extra plugged in. I'm not sure if it would actually work for that example but I'm looking into it.

4K@30 and the storage can't be upgraded? Pass.

Not a bad price for having an SSD included, but that's not a serious amount of storage for a lot of the people I know who use these devices.

Can someone explain the use of this(ignoring the storage) please? Since two monitors can't be connected- why does one might need something like this, considering that monitor/usb drives/etc could be connected to laptop directly. Or is this for iPad/Apple use primarily?

I was thinking the tablet thing too but that's way too much power passthrough for a tablet.

This is a niche item without a niche need

I have one similar to this one I use on my 2013 MacBook Pro. The one that only had 2 USB C ports lol. And one of them was for charging

256GB SSD at 400MB/s sounds like it's eMMC and they're calling it solid state. Seriously. 400MB/s is the eMMC standard. There's no reason why an "SSD" can't reach at least SATA3 speeds (6Gbit/s which is 750MB/s) unless they're putting thumb drive or SD card quality NAND in there.

So, the storage is faster than a thumb drive, but slower than literally any sort of SSD with a USB3 adapter

Most data drives run at about 500 so the USB passthrough might be the limitation here

Happens with many other portable SSDs

Neither Ethernet. So many "no"s but cost $35. How worse the finding is!

This is for the Macbook Air people who only have USB-C port and need USB-A or HDMI

I have a laptop with only usb c, but need to charge, connect to monitor with HDMI, and wireless mouse with usb dongle. This would consolidate using 3 different ports into one. Why is this not a good thing?
