No, not at all and mostly a myth than reality. I have many designer fragrances and I repeat few of them. It is possible that once in a while you get a dud, but as long as chain of custody in designer fragrances is followed(which is a serious matter), you won't get fakes.

One thing I can tell you is that no 2 batches are same. I have bought directly from YSL and Armani beauty and few other. Let me tell you that there are significant and I mean significant differences in longevity and silage year over year,

Thanks for the input. Just curious how the fragrances were shipped to you from YSL and Armani? I recently bought one bottle from Costco. They used UPS to ship it. Just basically packed it in a box and delivered to my door. I opened the box, its still hot inside. I have been using that bottle and noticed its significantly weaker than the bottle i bought directly from Sephora. That's why i do think how the vendors store and ship the bottles to you really matters.
