$2 for 8 oz sample x 16 = $32

1 gal = $66

So it would be cheaper to buy 16 x 8 oz samples to get a gallon ... if you could.

As long as you need that much.

That said, these are for sampling. That is, spend say $6 and toss those three colors on the wall to see how they look. Then go back and buy the one you like best in bulk (e.g., gallon).

Pro painter here. I FAR prefer many of the Behr paint products (not crazy about the expensive Marqee low coverage). You are wrong. Consumer Reports extensive scientific tests are right.

I'm pretty sure a gallon is not less than 2 bucks.

Except lots of them will stick to the container and wasted plus your color might not be consistent. Clerk might hate you for tinting so many too. Probably 1 hr to get you a gallon

Wait, wow, it does weird things when you switch between the various options. It appears that the 8 oz samples are only available for Premium Plus interiors paint. Tried multiple iterations, and it keeps switching from 8 oz to quart or gallon if I pick exterior or Marquee.

Benjamin Moore samples are an inferior product to real paint. Not sure if Behr is the same. The rationale is to present the scenario you documented.

Interesting, how do they they do that? ie is the samples pre-mixed vs the volume items or is it the base paint that's different?

It's literally on their website.

"Since we do not test sample paint for long term performance, the colors may shift or fade sooner than expected. Benjamin Moore Color Samples are for interior paint color representation only."

Behr samples are NOT inferior to the original product. Behr samples are the exact same paint as the original product.

"These samples from Behr are actual paint and if that isn't enough, they are a primer as well so they have great coverage, meaning you don't have to paint 5 coats to get a solid color."

How long do they last? Are they good for art projects? e.g. model car, etc
