Speaking of games!....This is a potentially serious issue! What they're doing is resorting to intentionally debilitating the app/website at certain times, so that you can't place an online order and use any of the offers! I can't attest to this occurring nationally, but there have been several complaints here on SD about the app/website being dysfunctional (or not functional) at times. I'm in the NYC area, and this seems to occur frequently in the early evening (peak time for ordering)! The offers disappear completely, and there's a message stating that online ordering isn't working! It's become routine (at least in my area), and I've confirmed it with several others at the restaurant (who are encountering the same problem). You can reinstall the app to no avail (I've tried it numerous times). When you attempt to use it again, you'll get another error message. You're just wasting your time spinning around in circles! Then, miraculously, an hour or two later, everything goes right back to normal (consistently)! I'm convinced that they're playing games! In a sense, this is actually another version of "surge pricing" (or whatever you choose to call it)! Once you're on the way or at the location, you'll be victimized by their game and be forced to pay full price! Most will be passive and deal with it (and that's exactly what they're depending upon). I'd strongly urge as many of you as possible to go elsewhere if you have a non-functioning app/website! If enough people do this, perhaps they'll stop playing this game. If you call them, they'll (of course) claim that it's a technical glitch, so that's just a waste of time! Perhaps it's only affecting certain areas, but the only way to combat this is to boycott Wendy's when they debilitate the app/website! If this is intentional (and it very likely is), then it's truly underhanded, and they deserve to lose business as a result....lots of business!
i dont think it's intentional, but their server is just absolute unreliable trash. They want everyone using mobile, so they can eliminate the "extra" employee at the register, so when the app is down, they are losing orders.
As for the offers, if you load your offer into your account beforehand, there's a good chance it will be available for purchase at the register, even if mobile ordering is down.

I was giving them the benefit of the doubt as well....until this nonsense occurred 8-10 times (conservatively) over several weeks, and I confirmed that others were experiencing the same exact problem! I'm unsure if they can limit it to a specific region, but at least here in NYC, it has to be intentional! Especially since it's occurring at peak dinner hours and repeatedly! Tried what you suggested, but when the app/website goes down, all is lost, and it's useless!
Take a shot of the qr code of your account ahead of time. Then load offer for dine in ahead of time
I'll use these up. They are both a good deal. I like the single better. The ingredient ratio is off on the double.
The other offer that shows up periodically is 2 Spicy Chicken sandwiches for $6. This is a great deal, considering that the regular price for just one is > $7 here.

You can request extra lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles at no extra charge. It's 50/50 as to whether they're paying attention, but it's certainly worth a shot.

That's a good suggestion, and it might even work (as long as you remember to do it before they cripple the app). The point is that they shouldn't be playing these games! The recent suggestion about "surge/dynamic pricing" (which they quickly walked back) is a clear indication that they're looking at manipulation techniques. Crippling the app intentionally shouldn't surprise anyone. It's OK to be skeptical (especially these days)!

This is the way to go. Also, remember there isn't mustard on there by default (just ketchup and mayo) so add if desired.

I can confirm that off-line screen shots of the QR code generated for the offer (which appears after you click "Use In Restaurant") are scannable at the register just as if you were connected to the app. In fact, I even took a picture of the QR code (which was generated on the app on my Phone) with my iPad (where I don't have the Wendy's app) and that iPad photo of the code scanned at the register (while iPad was offline). Of course this doesn't work for online/in-app purchases but I've found it no faster to order on app than ordering at drive thru as they don't start to make either order until you checkin anyway.
The 2 times I've used the Wendy's app, I showed up at the Wendy's and they can't find my order…… then it's 5 minutes of, "did you pick the Wendy's?" Yes, I did
No clue why they have so much trouble finding my order. I've used the McDonald's app nearly 100 times and never had an issue
