Its a good franchise. Objectively speaking, you wont be surprised. The game mechanics are nothing to speak of. It's the experience of using the Hello Kitty brand on a plain engine that's nothing special. It's right there with "Race with Ryan". It's definitely for the kids, not adults. It's simple enough for them to figure out basics of karting. This would be a nice DLC for Mario Kart.

I do like the Hello Kitty software franchise for their memory games for kids on the NDS/3DS. Edutainment that are few.

Local Co-op 4 players split screen. For kids who are competitive and fight, this game might be more friendly.
Is this bloatware or am I going to be pleasantly surprised?

So basically outside of it being Hello Kitty, there is no real benefit if you have Mario Kart. My kids (7 and 4) love Mario Kart so this will likely be a waste of $2 if it's not as responsive.

Thanks for responding.

Lol. There is one advantage to this game. I have kids who fight a lot in competitive play, this game might be more friendly. Other than that, no there isn't much benefit outside of Mario Kart other than simplicity which may be a step back. One of your kids 4 years old, this game might even the playing field with the 7-year-old. Your 7-year-old might despise you for it as much as the 4-year-old might love you that much more (if she is a she).

It's kinda like the first Mario Bros movie. So bad that, I had to watch it. This game looks so terrible in the YT reviews I feel like putting $2 down just to see how bad it is and see what my kids will say.

I totally get it. For less than a price of coffee I can see just how horrendous it is. Smilie

Totally get what you're saying. Few years ago, I saw a copy of Race with Ryan at Goodwill for a couple bucks. I figured, why not? Tried it and the racing/drifting mechanics of the game is surprisingly good. I mean, it's pretty hard to f up these types of games at this point.

So do you need it if you already have Mario Kart 8? No, but you can pretty much say that about any other Kart Racer if you already own Mario Kart. However, if you have small kids, it can be a fun little alternative (new characters, weapons, tracks) to MK8. Besides, how long has MK8 been out now? And they aren't releasing any more updates for it..

I ended up buying Hello Kitty Kruiser, Garfield Kart Furious Racing, and All-Star Fruit Racing, all on sale. The young kids will enjoy it as an alternate to MK8. They respond more to the art and character than game mechanics.

For $2 it's probably fine for kids but it's an absolutely atrocious game. It's buggy, got horrible graphics and music, bad controls. I regret spending 20 minutes of my life playing it and wish we had turned it off earlier to play MK8.

I guess it's worth $2 but the game is trash. My 2x 5-year-old daughters played for 5 minutes and asked to play Mario Kart. When you bump into the sides the screen shakes, It's easy to go the wrong way.

Bought it for my kids because they love Hello Kitty but it's trash. Screen tears each time anyone crashes into a wall, controls suck and gameplay overall is lackluster. They gave up on it after a few minutes of play. $2 wasted, anymore than $2 and I would be very upset with this purchase
