I have this. It does have a cooling issue but if you prop it up a little then it works fine and doesn't overheat. It's not a gaming laptop but can be used to play games. The screen is beautiful and responsive. It feels pretty nice even though it's not a metal body. I don't like how the numpad is laid out but for this price I think it's a good buy.

Depends on what you're comparing it to. Most laptops at this price with good performance have poor screens. Compare this to the newly released G16 with 4070 for $2k and it seems like a steal, unless you think the improvements there are worth $800/ (speakers, 240hz screen, metal build). GPU and cooling there are limited too though.

Sometimes when booting up the screen stays black and you have to hold the power button for 15 seconds to shut it off then turn it back on. The mux switch to change which graphics card breaks the windows hello pin/fingerprint so you have to set it back up when you switch. The battery life isn't the greatest but I like that I can charge with my powerbank. I was able to add a 2tb ssd and replace the 8gb stick 16gb of ram. The build is decent but it collects dust and fingerprint easily but the bottom does have flex when trying to hold it with one hand.

Is there this, but with a matte screen (IPS is fine) instead of glossy?

Had this and returned it, only with a 4070. The body feels cheap and collects finger prints easily. Cooling seemed fine to me.

Pass on glossy displays. Lenovo Thinkpad has the best anti-reflective 4K OLED 60 Hz 400+ nit display. Expecting 120 Hz in 2024.

Every oled with a matte display I've seen turns blacks into black grays when there are a lot of lights on in the house.

Yes, matte displays have gray issues. My Thinkpad T15g isn't matte: it's bright, semi-glossy, with minimal glare.

15.6" UHD (3840 x 2160) OLED, anti-reflective, anti-smudge, touchscreen with Dolby Vision, HDR 400, 500 nits

The only monitor I've seen with similar properties is the 42" LG OLED Flex.

So can anyone tell me if this is a $400 worthwhile upgrade over this one with similar cpu, RTX 3050 and a lower resolution 2.8K OLED?

You need to assess your use case, first and foremost, especially the fact that whether you need a dedicated graphics or not.
That being said the RTX 4060 and 3.2K display are worth $400 itself. Then you also have the bigger 96 Whr battery vs 70 Whr in the ZB. The build, however, will be better on the ZB compared to the VB. Cooling is also comparatively better on the VB vs the ZB.
