Does that really work? I thought the PS5 version was different and had some added features to go along with the PS5 controller and graphics differences too?

They don't make games, it's a consulting group, and how much the game is influenced by a consulting group is up to game company themselves, could just be how a side characters is portrayed, or a whole game script.

Horizon Forbidden West was the last PS4 game to come with a free upgrade to PS5 (after a bit of controversy), worth noting there is a Complete Edition now though that comes with all the DLC including the PS5-only expansion so if those extras are worth it to you that might be the better deal. God of War Ragnarok came out after Forbidden West so upgrading to the PS5 version is $10 extra

I assume you mean just Forbidden West you upgraded for free, not Ragnorok? Are you saying you paid $50 for both or just $5 for Forbidden West? If that's the case the game is 3 years old, I'm sure it's been cheaper.

It can be moderately annoying playing a PS4 disc game with a digtal Ps5 version upgrade. They are side by side on the home screen and PS5 will keep showing/regrowing the PS4 version even if you delete it.
