Hope they have this deal when the PRO model releases.
Could you just trade in now and bank the credit for when the Pro comes out? Or does the credit expire?

Agree with this, this is the nature of the beast though: the smaller you make devices, the more heat they will generate and will need additional cooling to compensate. It's not like they changed any of the major components inside. I'll keep my original just so I don't have to deal with GS (see MintX's comment above, I've also had run-ins with their staff like this).
Yes. The other issue is the annoying rattly nature of the fan included, which if Sony had paid attention - needn't have been an issue. The Series X really is the gold standard of acoustics. I wish Sony had done their homework...

Sounds like if you were planning to buy spiderman 2 anyway you could get a new PS5. After having to replace my optical drive it would be nice to get a new one where the optical drive can be swapped out super easily for $70.

I doubt the credit expires but that could potentially be a long time without a PS5 since no announcement has been made.

A pro doesn't seem as necessary, no one is looking at the PS5 and being like, "man, these graphics are trash!" Sure, a console that can do RT well would be nice, but I'm not expecting 4k@120 anytime soon.

You can trade in a used PS5 for $90 more than you can buy a new XBOX Series X for. Tells you which one is successful and which is struggling.

Plus people have to remember that the games need to be updated for the pro via software update. Otherwise, you'll be stuck like Shadow of the Colossus, one of the most OG games, never getting a 60fps ps5 update

Why are you posting about Xbox retail pricing in a PS5 deal thread?

Don't pro members get an additional percentage on top of the 385?

What exactly do I need to take? The console, controller, power cable and HDMI? Am I missing anything?

I thought about selling my PS5 recently. I am just not playing games on there as much. I know NextGen consoles won't be out for a few few years but is it worth it to go for this credit versus trying to sell yourself? I don't know what I would get for it but this credit would not get used for a while most likely..

good point - ty.
I just returned some clearance gamestop items there that they have to deal with a couple days ago so hopefully this will help them forgive me lol

my only annoyance is that I only have a spare black Dualsense :/ My white one I turned into this. worst of all is I don't even use it lol - I use the dualsense edge instead :/
You are lucky. Most stores do not accept returns of clearance items. Those are usually final

I upgraded my PS5 right before Xmas when they were offering $400 trade in. The Slim does generate less heat so it should extend the lifespan. Plus you're getting a renewed warranty, if you planned to buy spiderman 2 it's an added bonus....or you could try to sell the code and make most of your money back.

Main differences are the USBs at the front of the unit, and I did notice that the fans doesn't sound like an airplane taking off for intense games.
Testing has shown it runs a few degrees hotter. This wasn't a chip shrink like o
