If you can install a battery in a remote, you can install memory in a pc.

It looks like you can switch the RAM to 2x8GB sticks for free.

If you're wondering why you'd want this over 1x16GB, it's simple: Dual Channel bandwidth.

By running in pairs, you get more performance than a standalone stick.

If you aren't upgrading the RAM as soon as you get the system, this is a free performance upgrade.

Check your credit card company, often you can get a extra 3-15% back. Even microsoft coupon finder will save you an extra 5% right now as well.

Also anyone able to confirm if you can get 10% off using the new customer coupon and the discount thats already on the machine through dell, I think I asked a rep one time, and they said its one or the other....

I can confirm, after switching psu to 750W and applying the 10%, it is $1030.49 before tax. Mediocre to be honest. MSI codex r are much more attractive unless you buy this for Walgreens front desk usage.

I am still using an older XPS 8940, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400. It still runs quietly and never fails. Itching to upgrade to this.

That's a pretty good deal and likely doesn't use proprietary parts. Costco also had similar computers for about the same price last time I was there.

It is jaw dropping that the default PSU in the link is 460W. What's worse is this looks to be a proprietary PSU, so buying this will be catastrophic.

Upgrading to at least the 750W PSU is mandatory.
A prebuilt is the wrong machine to buy if you plan on upgrading GPU to 70 series.
460W PSU is plenty for a 60 series GPU

You are buying a dell, because you CBF buidling it yourself. Theses boxes also don't have much space, so you are going to be limited with what GPU you can put in it.

The only thing you should upgrade on these prebuilts is adding another drive and another stick of RAM, both which should be purchased elsewhere for a better deal.

I would've thought that too, but this one can handle even a 4090 🤯

The 460W is the perfect choice for the i7 stock and this 4060TI. If you plan on upgrading the GPU later, def upgrade the PSU, but I'd rather buy this amazing price and sell it to upgrade to a monstery system overall rather than tag up the parts. At this price I feel like you can sell at Christmas to the parents who waited too long to buy gifts and recoop a good amount of the purchase price

Damn, I'd be tempted to cancel and grab one of these if it wasn't such a GD eyesore, great price. I have to wonder why so many of these were returned that they're officially eBay refurbished though, hopefully it was just a commonly defective part they've replaced in all of them

1660 super? Guess a bunch of us got that during Covid. Wondering how to upgrade that myself. The way dell makes these things it's impossible to do much aftermarket stuff except for Ram and SSD

This could be a stupid question yet is there a slot to add an additional ssd on the board in this model?

Was a stupid question as the answer was obviously yes... will hop on this one as well...
Ooh good to know, thanks. Now to obsessively watch the SSD deals for a few weeks while I wait for this to arrive 😂

Sure used to be that way but this case has 4 PSU options and supports up to a 4090, how things have changed

64GB DDR5
4TBs of SSD

Liquid CPU cooler

So basically everything...
Seriously! I was shocked you could configure a 4090 into a thing this non-gamery looking!!

I wish they included 32gb ram. 150$ to upgrade from 16 to 32 is a bit steep. Can I buy this as it is and easily upgrade the ram myself? I've never done anything like before. Is it easy and foolproof? Thanks.
Don't forget to factor the 10% off into those upgrade prices mentally, and more if you use the Chase Dell cash back offer!!
