Everyone is always focused on wattage, the efficiency of the driver is actually more important. I have a pair of ancient passive SVS tube subs each powered by a 250 watt Dayton dsp amp and they outperformed several 300-500 watt powered subs, even in the subsonic range at reference levels in my small/medium size half finished basement. Would love to see a full review of this with max dB numbers and -3dB frequency response spec. I'm gonna roll the dice and buy one of these and see if it's a significant upgrade to the 8" Mirage in my bedroom set up. Worst case I can give it to one of my "home theater in a box fanboy" friends as a huge upgrade lol.

Just looked it over again- the 12" is only 31 pounds, no way it's a serious driver or cabinet at that weight. I'm getting a white van speaker vibe lol.
I own this sub. It came as part of an $800 speaker bundle posted a few weeks ago. This stacks up similarly to my polk psw505's, and better than my bic v1220.
31lbs for a cheap sub is actually pretty heavy.... Even if it is 12... The popular SVS SB-1000 isnt even 30lbs.

hm .. is it any good? anybody used it? looks nice, but 120w power and 240w max seems very low for 12" sub.. that's why it's so cheap?

Yes I agree power rating is pretty weak. They also do not publish all the specs. If I hits 20hz probably at nearly no output

Looks good for the price. Style and size is insane pricing. Compare to Monoprice sub with 12" 150 watts for $140.

But no reviews on how it sounds which is the big thing. Would get two if because the price is insane. They must be losing out on shipping costs...

Not sure about the cheap Monoprice 12 but I picked up the Monoprice 8 and it was a huge POS. The build quality, amp and sound quality were horrible!!! This Magnat definitely looks and weighs the part but would need to see some more reviews.

From all my reading, I'm in for 1 to test out.

This the info I found about this company since I never heard of them,

Magnat is a company that specializes in high quality audio products. They are based in Germany and develop their own products in-house. They are passionate about sound and design, and they believe that great sound doesn't have to cost a fortune.

Founded: 1973
Parent organization: Audiovox German Holdings GmbH

How will you test it out? Return shipping for this 31 lb sub is probably close to the price paid for it.

Appears to be more popular on the Amazon Germany site (.de) and has good reviews. My guess is that this would be comparable to the BIC F-12, which is a good entry level sub.

If you don't need much sub 30hz frequency, you enjoy tactile feel, and have space behind your seats, then I'd buy a couple of these and place them there. You can enjoy them like bass shakers with sub sound.

Okay, now I have a dilemma. Full disclosure: I'm a complete audio noob.

I'm debating my audio setup for an ultra high-end gaming PC (I also use my PC as my TV more often than not). I have already ordered a pair of Jamo S 803s and a Jamo S 810 in black. I also ordered a pair of Fluance SX6-BK speakers. Regardless, unless someone introduces me to something superior, these go with a Fosi BL20C I ordered. I think the Fluance set sounds better than the Jamos when excluding the sub (just speaker vs speaker, the sub is still in-transit). I feel like the Fluance set is far superior in the treble department and slightly better for mids, but the Jamos win for bass. But with a sub now in the mix, bass seems irrelevant for the speakers. Once I saw the S 810 for $89 I figured it couldn't be beat for the price, but now I'm second guessing it based on this one. Can anyone recommend what sub and speaker combination I should use? Should I get this instead of the S 810? Price is important, as are looks (matching equipment is ideal but not required), but ultimately I care about sound first. I don't need to rattle windows a mile away, but I do want something I can crank on occasion and enjoy. I live in a rural area with my closest neighbor about 100 yards away. Ultimately I'd order this sub and return the one I don't like, but it seems Adorama charges return shipping which could be a deal-breaker for subs. I'd likely have to resell private.

Probably stick with the $89.00 Jamo S810. It gets good reviews and should match up with small bookshelf speakers quite well.

Interesting. Is that regardless of which set of speakers I keep? Like I said, I think I favor the Fluance set, but the Jamos match and don't sound terrible either.

I guess an advantage for the S 810 is the space factor, which is cramped on my desk due to my monitor size and now a large-ish set of speakers.

Thanks for the input regardless!
