The motherboard doesn't have onboard video so just be aware of that if your plan was to pull the GPU and run it without a graphics card using the 5600g for video
Just some food for thought on anyone thinking of purchasing this pc. I purchased this about 2 years ago and have had nothing but problems. A year after purchasing the ssd drive went out and had to send it in under warranty work for the replacement. Just recently, it was acting very strange with odd codes at boot. Turns out the motherboard went out. This is a common issue with this pc and a number of people online have had the same problem.
I'd look into the specific gfx card on it yourself. An are you running 8k or 4k or 1080? Sadly even vlc doesn't seem to optimize very well an i had a mad crazy workhorse that could still take a few seconds to load or skip thru 4k. If you run 1080p most things; cept maybe a dell; could handle that. But as a server I suggest you have a larger case cause you can fill one HDD pretty fast. However if not storing 100 4k+ videos it could work well. I really don't trust specs or hearsay.
Either way even windows an proggies will Fill half of 528gb. So as a server this still needs a really storage solution. Look up the 12gb drives on here an pay the extra $80 to add it on (assuming this has at least 9ne extra 3.5 bay)
When folks talk about storing 4k movies... Assuming I know where to look for them 😉, how do I know which files to get? I see big lists in different file sizes...

Yeah 🤣 if it's small it's probably one of the fake "upscale" ones. (how sites don't just remove those as spam I dunno). At a real warez site files should have a description that will say enough keywords to describe it as not really 4k. If it says anything other than "compressed in rar/zip format" to explain why it's so small; it's probably explaining away how it's some fake "upscaling" (forget exact terms; been a minute). If it's below 4gb or even 6gb or eve 16gb I'd definitely assume it's not really 4k. I used to look for the largest file size tbh. There was usually like 4 of the downsized versions. Never understood why sites started allowing that scammy method to ever be uploaded. Clearly as you an I know it's misleading. Like I said. That 512gb drive. Is your OS drive. You are gonna need a storage drive if you have more than like 10 4k videos. I'd say regular chances were sized from 6gb-32gb(extended directors cut with extras)
Just be careful an make sure you go to the proper sites before downloading something.
Oh an the gfx card may matter these days due to changes depending on its model but the processor was everything video a few years back. So you should be good as long as it's not 8k.i dunno how well that plays with computers personally. Make sure to use the video player "VLC" an download it's extended code pack version. For some reason Microsoft an no one else ever made a proper video player an VLC has been everyone's player for decades

How would this run as a dedicated Plex server for remix/4k?
Not optimal. The 3060 is way overkill for Plex and will also use far more power than needed. You can do multiple 4k transcodes on a very cheap Intel CPU via Quicksync, no dGPU needed and vastly less power.

Remux not remix... I haven't dj'd in 30 years
You recommend a Quadro over the 3060?
