One thing that sucks about Lowes (and I like them) is they really limited what items work with discounts. My father-in-law went to pick up electrical supplies for a small project on our house, and none of it qualified for discounts.
Guessing this applies to most reading this thread.. AAFES now has a link to HD appliances where you can buy appliances with like 1% discount and tax free. So basically 10% off appliances, something Lowes stopped giving discounts on. Can also use military star card to buy them.
Because I'm giving Lowe's a thumbs up. I said Home Depot does a cap. It's a max of $400 at Home Depot. Lowe's does not have an annual cap which is very awesome of them.

Just about everything at HD GETS YOU MILITARY DISCOUNT. Can't say the same at lowes, seems more restricted. So to each his own.
That hasn't been my experience at HD.. anything on special buy, and many commodities like lumber, electrical wiring won't apply discount in store. It's inconsistent, it'll show discount on app, then doesn't work when you go to pay in store. So I order online and pick up.

I've hit the $400 limit past 2yrs and usually hit Lowes for the rest of the year. This year after I hit limit, I noticed the discount still worked when I used website instead of the app/QR code.
The free shipping with no minimum purchase is great, but HD was already doing this for quite a while now. I really credit HD for gettting Lowe's to provide equivalent benefits.

Yea same. my discount never worked on sale items from Home Depot.

I remember when Lowe's was cool and the 10% worked on everything, clearance included. I always thought it was super f*cked up when they restricted the discount on clearance. Such a scumny thing to do
What's with the TD. Are some accounts incapable of giving TD or is it just me?

IMHO, though, Lowe's complicated what was a pretty simple process, all in order to force you to use their app.
Before: pull out your wallet, scan your "MyLowes" card barcode. Simple, <5 second process. And you're pulling the wallet out anyways, to pay for your purchase, right?
Now: put their app on your phone. Log into it. Open the app, and what? Make my purchases? Scan their barcodes on my phone, in their app? Punch in my phone number (which will definitely take more than 5 seconds)?? Not really much of an explanation....
Oh, and then there's this:
All accumulated points will expire 12 months after last points-earning activity. [from the Lowe's site]
So if you're not earning 1000 points within a year ($800 in purchases, at the 1.25 point rate), guess what? Great if you're purchasing a LOT of stuff. Not so much, if you don't.
Thanks for clearing up my confusion! That IS pretty darn cool of Lowe's! I have been kinda disappointed in Home Depot's treatment of Vets.
"Treatment of vets"? What treatment is that? They don't owe you anything. As a past long time member of the US Army Armor Corps, if I remember, I entered as a volunteer, and was compensated pretty well. Funny how most of my veteran friends from those days avoid all those "get a free this or that if you are a vet" promotions. I certainly appreciate what Lowes and HD do, but I would never consider this some form of mis-treatment of verts if they didn't.
"Lowe's for Pros customers are not currently eligible for the Lowe's Military Discount Program."
I would have thought that veteran small business owners would have been their key demo for this deal. Someone at Lowes is probably patting themselves on the back for "such a great program" offering here. smh.

Lowe's has eliminated so many items from being discounted. It's a joke.
