Most pesticides will kill most insects. Often the difference is marketing but not always. Ants are one of the more sensitive insects so this will kill them but won't kill the colony which may or may not survive the loss.

This stuff is awesome. Had plenty of other brands that wouldn't handle wasps, then tried this stuff... dropped them like it's hot.
