Just picked one of these up at the Lone Tree CO store - had 3 left by the ceiling fans and a nice pile at the entrance/exit near the contractor check out.

Looks like this price is actually showing online as well for me right now with 38 available for "delivery", but guessing that may be a local-ish service.

Way, way too flimsy for a 100' 12/3.
I spent some time researching, and so far have landed on this: https://a.co/d/7o2NoDA see the videos
Here's a picture of mine with a 100' 12/3 cord on it. It's been used this way for 30 years and has held up admirably. Sure, I'd prefer something beefier for frequent use, but the person I responded to was specifically asking for cheap recommendations. It sure beats trying to coil it without a reel.

Thanks for the photo. I'm glad that one works for you, but it does look as though it a bit larger and more hefty than the Bayco 150 ft. 16/3 Amp Extension Cord Reel with NO Outlets, would you agree?
It's 's good to know that there is a type of orange reel which will work with a 100' 12/3.

It is a little bigger. The 30-year-old one I posted is 14" in diameter. The Bayco one I linked to is 13" in diameter.

I realized today I actually have one of those 13" Bayco ones. I bought it a few years ago to store a 16/3 extension cord on. I put the 100' 12/3 cord on it from the other reel and took a picture. There's no room to spare, but it does fit.

Home Depot also sells this one [homedepot.com], which appears to me to be the same Bayco reel made for Home Depot. Here's a screenshot of the answer Bayco provided to the question about how much 12/3 cord fits on it.

Available in Valdosta Georgia for shipping. But shipping is $79! Ouch!

It seems like shipping from Home Depot is usually either free or ridiculous.

Anyone find a reel that actually holds 100ft and has outlets built in? All I'm seeing are 12GA 75ft.
My steel Bayco fit. It gets close to the edge but it fits.

Read the item description. That reel will not fit 100' of thick 12/3. The beefier reels that will accommodate 12/3 are about $130.

I've spent some time diving into less-expensive solution and have come up with this, after looking at the Amazon review videos and also YouTube: https://a.co/d/7o2NoDA
I know what the item description says but the item description for what I have officially does not support my cord, and it still "fits" IRL.

I don't see why the other Baycos with similar official descriptions would be different. Pretty sure they bake in some wiggle room so people don't complain and/or so they can sell the next model up.

As for the model I linked that isn't a Bayco, read the reviews. At least one person is using it with his 100ft 12/3 cord. I'll take real-life experience any day over specs from the mfr on this type of item, especially when they may be profit-driven.

But hey, you do you.

Nice! I will try it. Beats spending an extra 50 bucks on the next-best fancy alternative. The picture is better than 1000 words. Thank you for the follow-through.

I think all extension cords are inflexible at cold temps, being metal.
Incorrect. The metal has nothing to do with flexibility. You can make wires more flexible by using a large amount of small strands of metal. Or in cold weather, you can use rubber as the jacket material. SJEOW, or SJEOOW. Those are basically as flexible at -20F vs 120F. If you want cold weather rating, dont use STJW, unless it is a "permanent" instalation.

Since when did we have to start paying to use brickseek?!?!?!??
Sign up for a free account, works fine. Brickseek sucks now, not worth paying a dime for it. My free account brought up stuff fine. I couple that with a zip code map of my area and find what I want just fine.

I went to my store that still had these left but it wrang up $87 at the register. I tried to get them to match the price it is currently showing online of $32.67 but the worker wouldn't budge. I was so pissed. So I ended up paying the extra $9 for them to deliver right to my door. So whatever, had to pay over $40 but worth it for a 100ft 15 amp cord.
