I researched this for a while and a lot of reviewers on amazon and youtube said the top is hard to clean which made it a hard no for me.

I get it. For proteins I just soak in dawn and a decent dish brush with hot water preferably while still warm. For most fried foods the non-stick is so good I can just spray it off with hot water. The griddle I've usually just used hot water as it is so non stick it comes right off. I think a lot of people complaining may be OCD, just plain lazy, or not using the right brush IMO. Coming from someone that uses cast iron which people would probably say it's hard to clean :/ In defense I will say the included brush doesn't do a good job and too small which may lead to this being hard to clean.

I have an older model and the lid is much harder to clean than cast iron. Cast iron is easy if seasoned. What sucks is I know someone in Europe and they have one which is coated with nonstick on the lid and it whips off easily. I do like the product though. I don't see why they wouldn't make removing the coil, fan and lid easy. It's very doable. But obviously would increase price a bit. Some people seem to have luck with dawn power shot foam and steam cleaners.
