This is what I bought for $29.99 in Sep 2023: INIU Power Bank, 25000mAh 65W USB C Laptop Portable Charger, PD QC Fast Charging 3-Output External Battery Pack for Laptop

https://www.amazon.com/INIU-Charg...133&sr=8-3

I charged it up in Sep 2023, and it's still holding 96% of that charge. It goes on sale for $30 about once a month.

An Amazon reviewer got 84Wh out of it, which is excellent given the nominal capacity of 88.8Wh. This is consistent with Youtube reviews I've seen and with my own experience with it. It's the best affordable power bank for charging laptops that I've found, and I've tested five different ones. It's a favourite for Steamdeck users. Also great for charging Surface Pros or other laptops. Weighs in at 488 grams.

My GF and her sister also bought one each. None of the three has been returned.

I've read enough comments now and canceled my order. I instead went with the AnkerDirect price of $80.

If the warranty claim doesn't pan out, harvest the batteries, they're likely still good and only the electronics have failed.
Not sure about harvesting this powerbank since it's most likely pouch style cells.

I assumed they might be cheap 18650 battery cells. I know Anker uses Panasonic cells, and off brands do exist, so maybe??????? But, considering the price, you might be right.

So what makes this power bank in this discussion, any better than this one?

I'm not a battery expert but I remember last time this came up there were legitimate reasons why the one you posted is objectively worse. I think it has to do with the charging speed on that unit.

Can this specific battery pack charge and provide power to connected device at the same time?

This the 537 is very Apple Macbook-centric in that if you need to fast charge a Macbrook Pro, it can. The 140W output matches up nicely with the 140W fast-charge requirement of the newer Macbook Pros. [https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212755 ].

This 537 can be fast recharged at 140W vs the slower 60W for the 548.

The thing you are giving up is obviously the capacity since the 537 is 24000 mAh and the 548 is 60000 mAh.

The User Manual for the 737 on Anker.com is useless. You need the Quick Start Guide. That has the specifications for unit.

Has anyone who owns this felt like the capacity is a bit lackluster? At 24k mAh I expected to at least get 6 (really 7) charges of my phone out of it, but I'm getting closer to 4. Everything else I love about it (passthrough, recharge speed, status window), but for the size and weight I expected more. Did I just get a janky one?

Would depend on the capacity of your phone battery wouldnt it?

I purchased it then also. It is worth $79.99, probably not much more. It's shape and weight take a little bit to get used to. Make sure you have a super fast wall charger to charge this brick.
What's bad about the shape?
