There are similarities. For Buffalo wings, I'm all in with Frank's, but Red Devil is a good Louisiana style hot sauce. I like it with breakfast, fried chicken, or on potato and macaroni salads.

For amazing grilled chicken try this. In a sauce pan, heat 1 stick of butter, 1 cup of cider vinegar, black pepper, and an ounce or two of hot sauce. Bring to a boil and shut off. Keep the skin and salt and pepper the chicken (thighs and drummies work best, but breasts are great too). Grill and brush with sauce while cooking. Sometimes I dunk the pieces in the sauce. Use the leftover sauce to dip in. It changes to something heavenly when some cooked chicken/charred bits intermingle. We call it butter vinegar chicken. It's simple but super delicious.

Red Devil is mild (for hot sauce), so you can use it pretty liberally, and it adds a lot of flavor.
It's super mild and much less flavor than Frank's or Tabasco. Even at this price I won't buy again.
I feel like a lot of people don't understand the vinegar hot sauce style should be vinegar forward. They compare it to other more tomato and vegetable based hot sauces while not really understanding that it is more of a spicy vinegar than what they think of a hot sauce. It's the same reason a lot of hot sauce enthusiasts like to tell everyone that Tobasco is bad. Put on some greens, oysters, or to enhance a mild hot and sour soup from a Chinese takeout, a vinegar sauce like this is great.

Half vinegar hot sauce (like Frank's, Crystal, this Trappy's, etc.) with half butter makes a very traditional hot wing sauce. If you simmer garlic and green onion in the sauce, it gets even better.

How does this compare to Frank's Original?

Also, good S&S filler item - I'll add it to the filler thread.

Repped for thoughtfulness.

Same, bought the 2 pack and tried it last night. Pretty meh and lacks a lot of flavor/spice/heat

It is mild. I use it as salad dressing instead. One bottle does not last long.

I don't have the internals anymore for spicey(hot) things. However, this is my go to for adding flavor to meals. If you are expecting heat, don't bother. I like the taste.

I put it on my popcorn... best taste ever. Don't put too much or else it gets 'wet", also, don't cover it if you put it in a bowl. It WILL smell like "flatulence" LOL.

I love Trappey's. Never tried their hot sauce, but they make the best pickled jalapeno slices I've ever tried. Nice and crisp and not crazy hot.

Dang, wish it was in stock. Just ran out of hot sauce.

Welp, ordered 2. Guess I should have ordered 3 or 4.
