    Keep in mind that 4K/UHD is a tiny part of the total benefit of "next-generation" streaming quality. HDR has a dramatically greater impact on the total experience than pixel resolution. And using this Taxi Driver example on Amazon, it's not presented in HDR, compared to the official Sony Dolby Vision UHD release. Simply put, you'll hardly notice the difference, and ironically, an HD Blu-ray will look marginally better because of the bitrate.

    We need to start evolving into acceptance that HDR is the actual headline for forums and deals (knowing that HDR always includes UHD/4k resolution).

    Exactly. HDR is the real reason to get 4K content. As long as they did a good job on it. There are definitely some unimpressive "upgrades" when it comes to their HDR. Then you get incredible looking films, like the Titanic 4K upgrade. The HDR/Dolby Vision on that is nuts.

    This and the fact that digital "purchases" mean nothing as to ownership of said "purchased" media is what bothers me the most about BestBuy getting rid of physical media.

    This is indeed a terrifying development that might not legally survive despite the advice that sniveling lawyers are giving to these merging multinational media conglomerates. Courts frequently pierce the veil of corporations trying to evade their contractual promises by merely changing their name or getting acquired for strategically beneficial reasons, as if that changes anything. They've told us we "own" streaming rights after we purchase them, even though buried fine print calls it a temporary license. Looking forward to the fight.
