You can use this company based in Portugal, but make sure you use a no foreign transaction fee card on Paypal and pay in euros, if you don't want paypal to charge extra conversion fees.

I wish we didn't have the yearly prescription requirement. My contact prescription doesn't change, and $150-$200 a year for exams is expensive! You can get your contacts shipped from overseas, but most don't want that hassle or risk.

You can do an online exam for $15.99 and renew your expired prescription at lens.com.
Unfortunately, those don't work for contact lenses.

I have bought prescription lenses from Zenni with expired prescriptions before, no hassle.

We strongly advise against using an expired prescription. An outdated prescription may not provide the best vision. Regular eye exams are essential for maintaining your eye health and visual clarity."

Yes, online opticals are screwed up too. Try walking into a store and using your expired Rx.

The B&L Ultra are the best! I used to wear Acuvue Oasys and couldn't go more than a couple hours without my eyes bothering me/feeling dry. My optometrist recommended the Ultra and it's been a game changer. I can wear them for 12 hours+ without my eyes feeling irritated.

How old was your prescription? I tried doing one from 1800 contacts, and they said my prescription couldn't be older than 2 years.

Am I the only one who still uses Acuvue 2? I can those 24/7 for months without issue.

To compare costs post hidden fees, I usually use this site. It doesn't have all the contact online stores, but a good number of the reputable ones.

Then, I check Costco just in case they have a rebate that's worth it. Lastly, I look for any cashbacks with those sites to maximize savings. Remember to fill an out-of-network reimbursement if you do have vision insurance.

I have used Accuvue 2 for 20 years! I don't leave them in overnight though...

Thanks OP. I got two boxes of B&L Ultra for about what I usually pay but without having to search around for an hour. $24 a box shipped is a decent deal.

I am giving a company called interlenses from Portugal a try, but it has not been delivered yet. I heard about them on reddit.
Watch out for the conversion fees paying in USD on Paypal, you can use a no foreign transaction fee card and pay in euros though.

MozVolta is right...if necessary and with care, you can change the years of your prescription with Photoshop, ie Expires: 1/5/2024 to 1/5/2025. It works - online retailers don't phone verify if you submit a script online, it's all about sales. Still recommend getting routine exams tho...
