Fiskars is quickly becoming the dyson of the tool world. Take something that is perfectly fine, and instead overengineer and overprice it.

Not sure if this has the Fiskars "lifetime warranty" but the blades are equal to or worse than the standard utility blades I've used for years.

Better off with a 2-pack/$10 from lowe's or HD, imo.

Yes, Nirvana Guy - this is the second lowest price in what, 4 years... and, I had already mentioned in my OP that $9.99 was the lowest price *back in 2020* - so, please provide us all a link to your time machine where we can get this for $10. Also, I love when people DV a deal and provide no evidence of anything better. If $14.93 is the avg price, this is still, what, more than 30% off that price... and that's such a bad deal that you not only don't TU the deal, but you Downvote it?

This is the lowest price ever except when it briefly hit $9.99 back in 2020. This would appear to be the second lowest price, ever.

These are my favorite utility knives. I have 3 and love them because they feel high quality and sturdy, plus very easy to change blade and fold to put in your pocket. They are not always in stock so this is a decent deal. I think they are normally 15 bucks

It's worth mentioning that Amazon also has Fiskar blades for this knife on sale [amazon.com], but even at the sale price they are not cheap ($4.98 for 5).

Also, I see an odd square hole in the middle of those blades. Does anyone know whether you can use generic blades with this knife, or do you have to buy Fiskars blades?

I have a couple of these and other Fiskar variants and I love them. Got them on clearance last year at Lowe's. Much sharper blades than my other utility knives.

I bought this a couple of days ago and it arrived today. I needed one more knife around the house in a convenient location because I keep searching around for one after leaving it somewhere else.

My thoughts:

It's much heavier than it needs to be. They used pressed metal where aluminum or plastic would have been fine.

The shape is good in the hand. Maybe a little larger than it needs to be. Easy to grip.

Lowest CCC was $10 and that would be an okay price. $11.68 is a meh deal. You are not saving much.

The belt loop sucks. It's great if you are never going to use it though.

The flip out hinge has a some resistance, so you have to flip it with a little effort, unlike the Milwaukee Fastback which will fall out with gravity alone. This will be a negative for some people and a positive for others. It's probably safer this way because it won't accidentally open with a button press alone.

See the Project Farm vid for more info.

I think I like the Milwaukee Fastback more, but this is okay. It's just different.

I think a mod merged posts or something and nuked my lengthy response to this.. in short, Fastback 1505 is my absolute favorite... but pros love these Fiskars utility knives for their 'all day' cutting ergonomics.

I threw mine away that I got on a deal last year. Fiskars makes it take a special blade. So you have to buy the blades from them.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm trying to figure it out from the pictures) but these are only 'retractable' in the sense that they fold away? The blade cannot be slid up and down to change the cutting length, right?

The selling point of the Milwaukee and others similar is that they take normal sawzall/recip saw blades. This one has expensive proprietary blades

Menard's [menards.com] has a good variety of Fiskars saws as well for same or sometimes lower prices with 11% rebate (rebate in form of store credit check as always)
