My 14 year old girl has a thyroid condition requiring pills twice a day. I hide them in these things and it works every single time. The Walmart brand ones also work well, but these smell better. The smaller tubes from Temptations don't work so well.

How often should this product be used? package says no more than 10% of daily diet... can one cat finish all 4 boxes before they expire without getting into kidney problems?

Depends on the batch but you should be fine. Whenever I buy these, they have at least 18 months of shelf life remaining. If you feed two tubes/week that's 156 over 18 months. You can always give more if you want. It's only 6 calories and adult cats typically eat around 200 calories/day.

My cat demands one daily. I allow it because he is a senior, but his weight is ideal. I buy 1 or 2 canisters (or equivalent) at a time, and they don't expire on me.

I got the dog version of this for my pup and it's the only time she has ever eaten something that made her immediately vomit. Would never trust anything from this brand again.

I'm uncertain that's a great idea. It probably won't hurt her, but it's designed to be fed to cats.
