1. Get Southwest Performance Business credit card for 80000+5000 points after spending $5000 in 3 months
2. Get one of the personal credit cards to get 50000+1000 points after spending 1000 in 3 months
The above 2 cards will get you 136000 Southwest rapid reward points qualifying you for a companion pass.
The bonus points are posted on the statement date following your spending requirements are met. Therefore, make sure to complete spending requirements and combined $5000 spending ONLY AFTER your December statements so that the points are awarded/posted in January and then the companion pass will be good for 2025-26. So this is back on again but for 2025-26. Chase card now back at 50,000 miles. I have had the Platinum card for past 2.5 years. Should I go ahead and get Business card now and cancel current card? Do I have to do that before I can get Business card? What will I need for Business Card? On earlier thread (for 2024-25) someone said you can use eBay. Would my wife be one employee?
If the OP (Southwest Companion Pass for 2024-25) can reopen the expired post I will have this deleted.

If your goal is to get the pass for 2025-26, you are about 6 months early when it comes to the window to start opening cards.

If you get one now, those bonus miles will post in 3 months since you need to hit the spend by then. You would need to get both in October for this to work.
