Here's a link that shows the approved brands and authorized dealers
https://eclipse.aas.org/eye-safet...rs-filters

Because of the issues with counterfeits, i would be leery of getting it from Amazon or other places that's not on the list.

Yes, just make sure they are on the approved list. Not worth going blind to save money.

NASA has a web page with reliable vendors. I bought from one of those. No amazon fake iso labeled ones for me. I like being able to see.

There is a 10-pack for $9.99 with free shipping: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...rtial.html
Sorry it was a typo. You are right. I was trying to offer an alternative to the 5 pair pack for an additional $1, but does not have a shipping fee. Will edit my post.

If you already bought some but not sure if it's legit, since fake ones have ISO 12312-2 labeling too.

Do the bright flashlight test, you will barely see it. Another way is to look at the lens itself. Inner lens will be plain black. The outer lens will have a silver coating.

If it's black on outer and inner lens, chances are it's fake.

So I am in philly, way outside the two limit lines? Do I need the glasses or I get to see nothing?

Around here our local library is giving these away for FREE, YMMV of course but it doesn't hurt to check and save a few bucks.

Inside the lines is totality, the sun is more or less completely covered, total darkness. Outside the lines you only see the sun partially covered.

So is that worth getting glasses?

Anyone who have used these glasses before can tell right away if it will work just taking a look at the sun. They block out 99% of the light. There is no way you can go blind on these

If you'll want to look up at the sun, then yes.
