This is a bit off topic, but thought it may be valuable to some. I recently got the Business version of this card, and my statement showed the miles and bonus earned, but did not show up on my American Airlines total at aa.com. What I didn't realize is American Airlines has a new program for Businesses, and those miles go into a Separate business portal. When you log into that business portal, it is a site that allows business owners to manage their employees travel and points. I panicked, and quickly transferred my 81k of points to myself. But!! What I should have done, is left them alone. This new gem would allow you to have "added employees" and you could transfer your points to any employee free of charge. Had I thought this thru, I could have added spouse, etc…. To top off that account. It never fails, one account or the other needs 5k-10k to make an award ticket. This tool will be very helpful to those of you who use it for transfers. I was simply panicking cuz I thought I lost my 75K bonus. In 4 years, I will do it right that next time…. If they don't change it by then.

Thanks for sharing. What's the downside of transferring the 75K to your own personal account - was it fees involved?

There are no fees. My only regret was to transfer them all at once to MY personal account. It would have been nice to leave them where they put them, and only use them as needed. Unlike transferring from a personal account, I could have transferred some to other family or friends accounts with no fees. For instance… if your spouse only has 35,000 miles in their account, and needs 45,000 for a free award ticket. You could transfer 10,000 miles, and not have to pay anything to do it.
