SlickdealsForumsDeal TalkLenovo IdeaPad Slim 5: 16" FHD+ IPS Touch, Ryzen 5 8645HS, 16GB LPDDR5, 512GB SSD $615.99 at The Official Lenovo Store via eBay
Why do they put such good hardware in and then the crappiest screen possible? 45% NTSC is terrible.
For a layman, no it's not. For basic productivity and a bit of simple media consumption, no it's not.
This is a general laptop and they primarily strike a balance between processor, RAM, keyboard, ports and battery and display. Hence, why the latter is 300-nits but 45% NTSC.

This is a business oriented laptop and they primarily prefer professor, RAM, keyboard, ports and battery; display is secondary.
I always thought IdeaPads were consumer grade laptops, but I do see your point on the 45% NTSC. I still don't think that's great for a laptop but for this price everything else isn't bad.
