The 1 star reviews are very concerning: at least 3 reviewers state the surge protector fried their equipment. I would slightly blame the users who fried their $3k gaming pc and multiple 3D printers since they likely went over the 900 joule rating, but another user fried both of their cell phones, which this should've been capable of handling. Many others experienced buzzing sounds coming from it with minimal devices plugged in. Most other 1 star reviews say the surge protector's usb ports or the whole unit itself stopped working after weeks/months of use.

I realize that even the most reputable and trusted surge protectors have failures such as burning/shorting out, but usually those are very rare circumstances. One user opened it up and saw poor soldering. I really wanted this but the minority of negative reviews makes me stay clear of it. Hope whoever buys it gets a good one.
Normally I take all reviews with a grain of salt, but the many grains of salt here is too much for me to ignore. Rarely do I see surge protectors breaking the devices plugged into them. I have mostly seen the surge protectors themselves catching fire, melting, or just stop working, but was caught off guard seeing the reviews for this one.

Some here will buy without reading my comment, some here will buy without reading any reviews and simply take the 4.8 star rating as good enough, but I still wanted to help those who're skeptical or on the fence or at least just let everyone know what they're in for if they get one of the unlucky lemons. For the most part I believe this product to be a good one, but I cannot risk breaking the things I plan on plugging into this (mainly my and my wife's phones).
Looks like a cheap Chinese knockoff product, but it is the lowest price it has been historically on Amazon.

why aren't there more or these with type-c'sssssssss? or is it just me that does not see them
Bought this Chinese brand and others but all look similar. All USB ports C or A, whatever are garbage, Either very loose, unable charge more than 1 or stop charging. The cheaper ones sold at Menards or HD are doing better. Don't waste money on those junks on Amazon.

Don't skimp on surge protectors if that's why you are buying this.

please avoid. I had one that almost caught my house on fire. Surge protection nonexistent. Unit starting burning, flame coming out the side, carpet caught on fire. Luckily we were home. Sent all pictures to amazon and they removed the listing

exactly. This is a the Platonic Ideal of a POS possible death trap, a surge protector that *may* bite the butt of a buyer (and their family) years from now, long after they have forgotten where it came from. Why risk it? Don't fook around with cheap sheet. *downvoted* as a "bad product".

Ah yes, the famous manufacturer HANYCONY. Surely this device can be trusted to not burn down your house. Some of you guys will risk your long-term health or safety so quickly to save $2 dollars.

A year or two ago, we had two family members stay in our guest room and they had a CPAP machine, some sort of fan used for white-noise or something, and, of course, a couple smartphones and maybe a laptop and/or tablet and there was only one outlet by the door, so I ended up buying one of these, plugging in the flat plug behind the cabinet, and mounting it on the wall so that future guests could plug in whatever they brung. Sometimes we will get a "that's a great charging arrangement; where did you get it?" question. (As if "Amazon" is not the answer to 99% of those queries. Smilie

As others have pointed out, it does lack a USB-C port, but that comment reminds me that I have a little adapter that I can deploy there just in case someone only has a USB-C-to-something cable they need to plug in.

This one is 13 amp. Your u.s outlets are rated to put out 15 amps. I am not using something like this rated at only 13 amps plugging it into my 15 amp outlet. And the manufacturer says it's on me, wife, kids to make sure I count up the watts plugged in. Or it may burn down my house.

Spend a few extra bucks, don't burn down your house. get a 15A extension.

editing to add, I'm not against this one in particular, I am against any multi extension brick rated less than 15 amps. you don't know how a loved one will use it in the future when you are away.

Ok let's clear something up here. You can plug a 13 amp into a 15 amp with no problems. We do it every day, for example, a 2 amp charging brick into the outlet. That's 2a into a 15a. The brick will only handle up 2a, while this "surge protector" will handle up to 13a.

The outlet means you can withdraw up to 15a (or 20a if installed), not that it's pushing out 15a at all times- otherwise just about EVERYTHING will fry.

I'm sure someone will read this and be more confused. I can't help you there. Seek Jesus. lol.

I've been running an air fryer, television and soundbar off this thing. Now seeing these comments and ratings I think I'm going to buy another surge protector.
