Recently got a JBL Authentics 300 and Boombox3 Wi-fi. First from Costco for $399, tho $349 during holidys. The 300 was recently at$279 at Amazon, briefly. Both are Wi-fi Airplay capable, the 300 does Alexa/Google, and both sound very good! FYI.

If you don't plan on carrying it far then the bag isn't really necessary. I have it which is very nice, good quality but also very big..The Move speaker itself is heavy so I don't think I would want it to go out with this bag.

Seems like a great deal. I jumped on a move during an open box sale. It works great with the ecosystem, I keep mine on top of my fridge to listen to movies while I cook. I agree with the above poster about the bag, this is an around the house speaker for most, travel bag will probably sit unused.

How do you tell if it's gen 1 or gen2? I'm at the Costco in Honolulu and it's $279, but no mention of which gen.

Edit: it's the Gen 1, sadly.

If the price is $279, I think it will be the Move 1 speaker. Because the cheapest price ever sold for the Move 2 speaker is $350 or more.At this time, I think you should buy sonos move 2. Because Move 2 is equipped with modern connection technologies such as: airplay 2, wifi 6, bluetooth 5.0... In addition, it is also equipped with an additional speaker to create stereo sound and battery life doubled.I have both generations of Move speakers, Move 2 sounds better and significantly louder than Move 1. The important thing is that Move 2 will have a longer support life.Move 2 will not have Google virtual assistant like move 1 because of their recent legal lawsuit with GG so they removed GG virtual assistant from Move 2. However, you still have Alexa virtual assistant.

I don't think my Move 2 sounds much better than my Move 1. The sound quality is about the same and I barely hear the stereo. I stream music via Airplay from my home server.

Also, first gen does have Airplay 2, I'm using it now. Battery life on 2nd gen is insane! But I love my original because it's all beat up and I bring it wherever and do whatever the hell I want with it.
