Any $150 monitor is going to look pretty weak compared to the one in this iMac. Sure, it might be a bit bigger at 24", but 218ppi (like the iMac) is impossible to get, even at $300.

I would advice to get a m2 Mac mini for 500$ and add whatever 300$ monitor you want. you can get monitor for like 100-150$ so you would save a good chunk of money

I got the blue one without Touch ID (didn't notice) for $800 shipped, used/excellent condition, and it was!

I generally agree, but there is a big chunk of the population, particularly elderly, that really like the simplicity of the all in one iMac design.

Or if one just doesn't have space… one has to admit it's tiny, and short of VESA mounts it beats almost any other not AIO for space usage.

Re: M2 Mac Mini
Would you go with 16 gb if you all you plan on doing is simple office work? Literally nothing else.

You can get a M2 16GB/256 for $679 pre taxes from Apple with EDU discount.
vs. $500 for M2 8/256

IDC how cheap it is for a mac, or the processor. 8gb soldered, and 256gb ssd is a fuxxing crime...

Personally, yes.

I have the iMac mentioned in this deal that I bought back when it released, and while I can't say 8GB has proved to be an issue, it's good for peace of mind. Like just running my browser, Discord, iMessage, Mail, Facebook Messenger, and Microsoft Word, I have 7GB used.

Long time I might be able to get away with it, but overall I would just pay the money to not find out later, or have the occasional task put me over.
