While this is a really good deal, keep in mind that many of these Sam Ash deals are marked as "Ships from a Sam Ash store" - meaning that they are most likely display models, and may be a bit shopworn. Al least the item page also says that you will be contacted by the store regarding the condition of the item before it ships - as opposed to Musicians Friend, who does not disclose any of this information when they sell something as "new" that is actually a Guitar Center display model that may be in much less than "new" condition (ask me how I know...).

Well, with the Sam Ash store closures (about half), they probably have a good number to get rid of.
One consolation with getting a display model (which I never mind, if it comes with all its stuff and is undamaged) is that the higher end guitars like this will usually be kept out of reach of most customers. You have to ask to see these usually, because they're behind the counter or far out of reach.

How are the quality of these guitars today?
I have a 2023 les paul classic in ebony and it's fantastic.
I also have 3 gibson's from 2019 and 2 from 2020.
The only one that has any issue is the 2019 Tribute. It has developed a slight tangible fretboard/neck edge. I'm assuming the fretboard has shrank every so slightly, enough to feel it. No issues with playability at all. Still a great guitar.

In my opinion, if I'm being honest with myself, the studio does the les paul thing. Just without the binding and Inlay logo. The one I have has the 490/498 pickup combo which is the same ones used in the customs for years.
I have a standard because that's what I always wanted. But I the tributes, studio and classic I have all sound and play awesome. And they are all different enough I can justify keeping them....to my wife.

Yah my wife rolls her eyes when I get a new guitar lol

Guitar center is the same company and all guitars are shop displays

Musician's Frriend and Guitar Center have same parent company. When MF advertises a new guitar at discount it is likely to be a floor demo guitar from an arbitrary Guitar Center store.

How are studios compared to standard?

Those late 70s and 80s les Paul's we so hit or miss. I currently have a 2005 standard faded and 2006 c.s. black beauty and they are flawless.
