Even if this fridge doesn't have the poorly designed compressor
Why the heck would you ever consider giving this company your money if given a choice?
Do people have amnesia of how LG handled that debacle? And then icing on cake was all of their sneaky ways they slipped in forced arbitration on their customers?

For those in here mocking other posters concerned about this fridge... they have every right to be concerned and of no fault of their own. LG imploded the trust in the brand. Why the heck would you take LG's side and call people morons for asking questions?

I bought this a month ago. Here were my question points and some findings:

- LG Compressor issues. You can verify yourself on the spec sheet this no longer has the problematic "new" style compressor that LG had issues with. It's back to a more traditional style.
- Lack of ice in door. For us this hasn't been a big problem since water is already chilled. It's not worth the issues that the refrigerator/ice combo come with.
- This thing is cavernous. Both because there's no wasted space to an ice maker in the refrigerator, but also it being the largest you can buy, our cramped fridge became kind of empty looking when we swapped to this.
- Water in the door hinge area. I was worried about energy loss but after doing some math on the energy loss standing with the door open getting water it's, at maximum, a few dollars per year. The majority of the energy is stored in the temperature of the items inside and not the air itself.
- Costco Delivery. Was genuinely A+. No nicks, no issues except they were 15 min outside their delivery window.

Edit-
- A bonus I found out later is this actually does have WiFi capability. It lets you customize chimes, set and view temperature, enable Ice Plus, Economic Care and Smart Air (supposedly this analyzes your usage and does some pre-cooling type stuff to optimize energy savings), Sabbath Mode, Energy Saver, Light customization.

No it is not, idk why you are so obsessed with this. It uses part # BMH130NCMV, a standard reciprocating compressor. NOT the linear ones that caused all the recent problems. Older LG fridges with their reciprocating compressors before the switch to linear were as reliable as all the other GE's and Whirlpools.

Recent? Linear issue goes back to 2018 if not earlier, this one is using linear compressor as well

They took off the fridge doors to deliver mine. Without them it came to 30" I believe.
Yeah, this GE I got is deeper than it's wide, so they can only get it face in, not side ways. Also, most delivery guys bring the fridge in without doors to safe weight, and install afterwards.

Because the value someone gets from $1,100 here does the individual more personal good than spending $500 for an equivalent to "boycott"

LG fridges are so bad, there are multiple class action lawsuits against them.
I thought the same thing. I switched to Samsung and they are even worse.

From personal experience, they're both shit, and you'll pay back what you save within six to seven years if you don't get the extended warranty.

I recently purchased a GE fridge from Costco online, the width is just under 33", which is the size my previous GE fridge. The delivery guys had to take off my front door to fit the new fridge in the house. This LG fridge is just under 36" width. I guess these giant modern fridge is meant for people with double front doors. Just make sure you check your front door before you order these new monster fridge, or you'll get a failed delivery because they can't fit the fridge through your door.
Is it deeper than 36 inches, too? Can't you turn it sideways to bring it inside?

edit- nvm somebody else said it is deeper than it is wide. that's crazy big

Seemed like a perfect fridge and deal … but this thing is huge. And I thought the one I had was big. (That's what she said.)

Can vouch. My parents side by side LG has been running for 20 years (manufactured Mar 2004) without an issue. I assume it uses the reg compressor. Same with our electric dryer.

Meanwhile the Miele (which replaced the LG) in my parents new home just needed service around 10 year mark. LG still running in the garage

LG Inverter Linear is a big problem.

If this model has this in its system, it is guaranteed to fail.

Without the doors the depth is 29.88 inches. Might be tight in a 32 inch door. But should fit easily through a 36.

Not with the doors removed. 29.88 deep without the doors.
