Even if this fridge doesn't have the poorly designed compressor
Why the heck would you ever consider giving this company your money if given a choice?
Do people have amnesia of how LG handled that debacle? And then icing on cake was all of their sneaky ways they slipped in forced arbitration on their customers?

For those in here mocking other posters concerned about this fridge... they have every right to be concerned and of no fault of their own. LG imploded the trust in the brand. Why the heck would you take LG's side and call people morons for asking questions?

I bought this a month ago. Here were my question points and some findings:

- LG Compressor issues. You can verify yourself on the spec sheet this no longer has the problematic "new" style compressor that LG had issues with. It's back to a more traditional style.
- Lack of ice in door. For us this hasn't been a big problem since water is already chilled. It's not worth the issues that the refrigerator/ice combo come with.
- This thing is cavernous. Both because there's no wasted space to an ice maker in the refrigerator, but also it being the largest you can buy, our cramped fridge became kind of empty looking when we swapped to this.
- Water in the door hinge area. I was worried about energy loss but after doing some math on the energy loss standing with the door open getting water it's, at maximum, a few dollars per year. The majority of the energy is stored in the temperature of the items inside and not the air itself.
- Costco Delivery. Was genuinely A+. No nicks, no issues except they were 15 min outside their delivery window.

Edit-
- A bonus I found out later is this actually does have WiFi capability. It lets you customize chimes, set and view temperature, enable Ice Plus, Economic Care and Smart Air (supposedly this analyzes your usage and does some pre-cooling type stuff to optimize energy savings), Sabbath Mode, Energy Saver, Light customization.

No it is not, idk why you are so obsessed with this. It uses part # BMH130NCMV, a standard reciprocating compressor. NOT the linear ones that caused all the recent problems. Older LG fridges with their reciprocating compressors before the switch to linear were as reliable as all the other GE's and Whirlpools.

How do you know which LGs have the good and bad compressors?

I have this one:

Will Costco hook up water line from old frig to new? Also, I'm keeping my old frig but want them to put in garage for me (I will cap off waterline). Do you think that will be an issue? Thanks in advance!

pulled the trigger, not going to sit here and debate. at this day and age, nothing lasts long, so if I can get a good deal and get 5 years out of this thing, it is worth it.

Clearly stated on Home Depot website:

Linear Compressor reacts quickly to temperature fluctuations and helps keep your food fresher, longer - Meanwhile, strategically-placed vents in every section help to surround your food with cool air no matter where you put it

On the fridge itself it should state smart inverter not linear inverter.

I would suggest to cross check on LG website under all specification.

I bought all my appliances from LG like 6 months ago and I regret every single day. I spent $10k and the quality of every single of them is worse than my old ones from the cheapest brand you can imagine (5x cheaper).

One would think if you are going to make a part that will rust you wouldn't put it inside the part where the water is, unless you want a "subscription" type. Then you would make an easy to replace part rust. In my 20 years of owning dishwashers this is the only time I had to replace a part, and now I "get to" replace the racks for about $400 every 2 years, just ridiculous. I looked for non-OEM but there were none.

As for looking for a dishwasher that has nylon, none of the sales people could tell me what racks were more likely to rust and what ones wouldn't and I am having a hard time finding the information about nylon. FYI there is a coating on the racks but the rust is under the coating then breaks out. Someone once said I was too ruff on the dishwasher, it's only been used by adults and rusts not only on the tines but the support grid on the top rack.

I mention this because when the LG Rep said my only option was to buy a new rack, I told her I could buy a good brand and let people know on social media my experience and hopefully join a class action lawsuit.
The plastic cracks after some time and the exposed steel corrodes. I had a sears DW that did that. Cheap materials more than likely. If companies cared than they would have warrantied rusted out racks on previous models and started to use better materials such as stainless steel under the plastic. Don't get me started about steel brake lines on cars that rust out if you actually keep your car for more than 10 - 15 yrs. All that safety equip on these new cars and they sneek this old crap on us unsuspecting buyers.
BTW still using a 25 yr old hot point fridge until it dies!
Rant over

Somewhat tempting, but based on my experiences with LG I just can't do it. Had so many bad experiences with dishwashers and customer service was atrocious. The one fridge I had of theirs died a little before 2 year old and I had to limp it along to even get to that.

I would avoid this brand. Stick with American made Whirlpool and Maytag. (Same company now.). Do your research.

LG has a tendency to make products that last at best 2-3 years all across the stack of products they make
