It was never $220 to begin with. Harbor Freight uses a stupid method of "Compare to xxxxx" of another manufacturer.

In this ladder's case, it's "Compare to LITTLE GIANT 16517-803 at $220".

The normal price for this ladder is $149.99 with coupons every once in a while that brings it down to $99.99. The current coupon is for $89.99.

If this same ladder as the one from years ago then this is an excellent deal. I bought it for $113 some years back and still use it. Aside from the black caps on the spring handles popping off I have not had one thing go wrong. I have number of ladders (aluminum and fiberglass) and if I want stability this is the one I go for. I have ran thousands of feet of network cable with it and I never doubt it. I'm still on lookout for a perfect ladder, light and as stable as this one but until then I will continue using this one.

You know the quality of this compared to other brands like Werner, Gorilla, or Little Giant?

It looks like 17' height is achieved when it is used as an extension ladder.

in it's defense - i've seen this firsthand and it appeared perfectly fine. latches locked into place ok.

that being said - i spent more on a little giant ladder at home depot after seeing it - i was assuming that when something dumb breaks (like the plastic feet etc) ill have more success getting parts/accessories in the future compared to this

I've not seen this particular ladder on a job site. There are many that look the same and the one thing that bothers me are the plastic ends to each rung riveted to the ladder. I see these on job sites and the plastic is cracked on many of the rungs. I would never get on a ladder that was in that kind of shape. I have a Warner, it's all metal except for the plastic on the feet. I've had it 10 years and still going strong! Peace

There is always something they cheapen on imho. Years ago I bought a drum snake from them and the coil flew out of its drum while it was spinning. The defect in design was that they made the opening too large on the drum. The coil almost hit me. After alerting Customer Service on the issue and getting a shrug, I realized I should have gotten a Rigid (and did) and what Harbor Freight was good for.

I don't like these, they don't let you know the stopping point of the full extension of the ladder so I found myself losing a leg haha

Those are premium brands, so when it comes to a ladder, I wouldn't cheapen and go with one of those brands. You wouldn't want something going wrong with the ladder, when you're 14ft above the ground!

I have this ladder (63418). Use it a handful of times a year, christmas lights, gutter cleaning, dryer vent, etc. I have no complaints. No doubts about quality. I'm 165 lbs, as a light duty homeowner, feels solid to me.

I'd be hard pressed to buy a ladder at hf.

Ladders are already dangerous af, I wouldnt want to double jinx myself by having a half one.

What is the max height as an a-frame? 6' or 8'?
