This model does supports Variable Refresh Rate. It runs at 120hz refresh, when plugged into a power source and 60hz on battery.

There's a chrome flag that allows the LCD to run at 120hz at all times.

My experience with eMMC is that they're slower than a spinning HDD. Maybe this is different since it's newer? PTSD means I cannot pull the trigger. It looks like a good deal on paper tho.

Purchased one a couple of years ago, and at that time it didn't support, spent several calls to confirm wasn't supported. Just verified with Lenovo Tech Support that it now supports. So that is why. A critic in every corner, when asking for confirmation.

How is steam running on chromebooks now? It's been awhile but I could get it sort of running with a few tweaks, I thought chromebooks are supposed to get steam support eventually?

I didn't get it at this price, paid the extra $9, but love it! The 2.5k display makes everything look a little extra clean to me. Plenty of power for what I use it for. Very happy I pulled the trigger on this one! I forgot how much I like Chromebooks over Windows machines. Downside, no touchscreen, silver lining, no finger smudges on my screen.
