For clarity (it seems like people are a little confused), the case itself uses lightning. It comes with a USB-C to lightning cable. So you can use a usb-c charger, but not a straight usb-c cable.

"Magsafe charging case"

What does that even mean? Is it USB-C or Lightning? The Costco description doesn't seem to specify it. Lightning is a no-go for me (and I assume many others) since it has been retired from pretty much all Apple products now.

Means, the case supports both wireless and lightning (but not usb-c). Here the link on apple.

Actually, the description on Apple's website says it works with USB-C:

What's in the Box
AirPods
MagSafe Charging Case
Lightning to USB-C Cable
Documentation

But further down in the description, it also says:

Charging Case
Works with MagSafe charger, Qi-certified chargers, or the Lightning connector

So I'm guessing it has a lightning port, but comes with a Lightning to USB-C Cable...
I have this gen. The block is usb c. The case requires lightning.

These (AirPods 3) are NOT USB-C.
Only the AirPods Pro 2 have the USB-C case.
There are new models that will have USB-C expected to be released later this year.

This new 3rd gen is usb c … I have the iPhone 15 pro, MacBook Air, and 3rd gen AirPods all use usb c. life is so much better with just one cable instead of lightening and usb c
Please do not spread false information, this Magsafe charging case supports wireless charging, but it still uses lightning, NOT usb-c.

I don't like silicone tips so I was really interested in these but sadly they don't fit my ears and had to return them. Went back to my 2nd gen Airpods lol

My experience with Costco buying these recently. Apple didn't honor the standard 1 year warranty (AppleCare, not AppleCare+) after buying these from Costco. Costco doesn't track the serial number for when it was purchased and it's not listed in the email receipt either. So you get the remaining warranty (this was 3 months for me) of what Costco bought these from Apple.

After reaching out to Apple, they require either Costco to register date of purchase with Apple OR the receipt to have the serial number to honor the 1 year warranty (again AppleCare, NOT AppleCare+).

If you had a different experience, PLEASE post below and let me know how it worked out for you.

Doesn't Costco also add a year warranty to electronics like this. Weird that the applecare wasn't honored.
