Excuse me for being arrogant, who would pay $1600 for a vacuum?
There are plenty of reasons, one being people value their time. Spend an hour cleaning your floors or go play with the kids while a robot does all the work. Pays for itself in a handful of sessions for some.
I just bought the Roborock S8+ from samsclub for $649.98 that $250 off, it works great, but if this model or the new to be released model is better? If so I'd upgrade.
To the people who say "why would you pay so much for this vacuum" you won't need to sweep or vacuum as much and consider what some pay a house keeper, this is a value, if you value your time and money.

I've said as much on a few Roborock posts, but the ~$1000 we paid for our refurbished S7 MaxV Ultra is, without question, some of the best "quality of life" money we've ever spent. It runs every day, vacuums our dog's hair, mops the floor, and generally just keeps the place looking like we just had cleaners through.
If our S7 broke today I'd have a new one ordered before tomorrow, even for $1600 new, with no hesitation whatsoever. It's not for everyone, but it is so thoroughly worth the money for us that it's hard to imagine not having it.

Don't get me wrong, and thanks for your input. I'm merely coming at it from a technological standpoint, like if there is close to 1600 worth of tech in it. But that's why I said I'm ignorant because I haven't looked into it. What you describe as quality of life improvement sounds fantastic though no question. I'm curious if having one in my garage would be useful. Our garage is 3 steps down so it would have to remain there. However, all the dirt and constant water coming/going into the garage, it would be nice to keep my epoxy floor clean and free of potential staining. Do you think that would be worth it? I would be willing to move it around once a week to the main house.
