They tried to make it more mature, but at the end of the day, it just didn't have the same magic as ATLA. They went with season-long story arcs that weren't nearly as engaging as even the standalone episodes of ATLA. There's no 'Tales of Ba Sing Se' or 'The Avatar and the Firelord' episode, if you know what I mean.
I do and I will, she was a real dummy.

I'd say it's more young adult than tween/teen like the original series was. Most likely because those who loved the original series would be about that age when The Legend of Korra came out.
It gets pretty deep at times and is an incredible series. They did a really good job in Season 2 explaining how the 1st Avatar received his powers. Also the Pro Bending Matches are extremely entertaining in my opinion.
If you feel guilty about sailing, buy this then download the fan remaster that fixes the post production issues and makes the quality of the show a lot better. Not sure if it lives on following the death of megalinks but it was an incredible effort some people put in.

I found Kora more engaging and entertaining than Avatar... call it blasphemy if you will.
Of all the words I could use to describe TLOK, "engaging" and "entertaining" certainly don't make the list. I wouldn't say it's unwatchable but the episodes definitely could be edited down to 1/4 the final time, maybe less since there's so much fluff.

But it definitely loses its shine as it goes through.
(I'll wait for this to go lower though)
