Is this a name brand rebadge to Member's Mark?

Edit: Looks like it's a rebadged Coleman Cookout 1000.

Smokers aren't usually great at searing anyway, but if you really wanted to, you could just stick a cast iron plate or skillet on the grill.
Ya I've got a camp chef with a sear function built in never really liked it. Ended up getting a side gas sear burner that works so much better. I do wonder how well those gravity charcoal systems can do it.

I believe you can upgrade to plus membership on prorated amount until end of current membership. Thus , essentially making shipping way cheaper .. possibly only dollars if your membership renew date is in near future
Indeed, that's right. Don't intend to push or promote Sam's plus membership, but just makes more sense to upgrade to plus for $50-60 if you have the basic membership, and enjoy free freight for the rest of the year. .

Price was $199 a few months ago. Wish I had jumped on it then, but wasn't ready to use it. I guess it's still decent deal at $249, but make sure to get the extended warranty.
3 years, $30, not too bad.

Looks like a pretty good deal. Basically appox. 50% off at $250, for a decent entry level pellet smoker with a large hopper capacity and dual probes.

Only concern here would be the cost of freight shipping. Options for local warehouse pickup or delivery were not available when I looked. If you have a Sam's plus membership, you can avoid paying what would likely be $100 or more in freight shipping charge.
Shipping took the deal part away at $174

I get it, I mentioned that in the original comment. If you have a Sam's membership already, my be worth it to upgrade to a Sam's Plus membership for $50 more and have free freight for the rest of the membership period. Otherwise, this may be a pass since they don't offer local warehouse pickup for some people (if not all of us).

To clarify, I was referencing the $29.99 add on All-State General Merchandise warranty you can add for 3 year coverage.

The 2 year might be enough on its own if you get standard issues like electrical or electronic software.

Man, I want to buy this but the comments have me really concerned. Seems there are some real issues with the controller setting off Error codes with no way of knowing what the error issue is. Seems the majority of negative comments are around the ERR codes, and many say they come within the first month of use. The hassles of the return or replacement process is something we all want to avoid.

I paid $249 about a year and a half ago. I returned it just before one year for a refund because it kept giving an ERR code. Nothing worse than thinking you're still cooking and go out and the things cold. If it would've worked OK, it was a great deal because it has a lot of room and it is double insulated. About a month ago I snagged one of the last Expert Grill pellet grills for $108 and I like it a lot better than the one I took back it, holds temperature right on the money. I have done about four cooks on it and think it works, very good. It also has Bluetooth which the other one didn't.

I heard pellet smokers have no flavor
Look into a cold smoke generator add on. I added the Smokai brand and move it from my Weber gas, to my vertical pellet smoker to my Kamado. Love the thing!

When my PDR kept giving ERR codes, I contacted the company in Canada for a replacement one. This was in June and they said it would be after the first of the year and I had to pay $30 upfront. That is when I took it back to Sam's and got my money back. It was under warranty.

I had this smoker & bought it when it was $200. For the price, the options & feel were amazing. However, after my 3rd cook I started getting the ERR error. I called MM to see what they thought the issue was. They said that it was a sensor issue & that they would send me a new one. But I had to pay a $15 shipping fee. I told them that it was still under warranty, they said that after 90 days, the warranty covers parts but not shipping. I replaced the sensor & then 2 cooks later the same issue. I cleaned the grill & tried it again, but within 20-30 mins of cooking the error would return. I eventually got fed up & returned it to Sam's Club. I couldn't return it right away as I had to deploy, but they were extremely great about the return even though it was a year later. I ended up buying a Traegar & it has been amazing with no issues. I really wanted to like this smoker, but that ERR issue was extremely frustrating. Hopefully MM figured that nonsense out.
