I have 2 of these, one is the pet pro with no sensor and another model that looks the same but has a dirt sensor. I use both, but they have one difference that actually matters more than I initially thought. The one with a sensor has a shaft that bends in the middle so it stands up on it's own when bent. To use it, just unbend (joint) and use it. The pet pro without the sensor has a shaft but no joint. So after you use it, you have to disconnect the power unit then hang it on a hook low on the shaft near the vacuum head. This is more of a bother than I thought having to basically assemble it and take it back apart just to use it. I won't buy another shark cordless vacuum without that joint. Makes it much less of a bother to use.
So, which one is the one this thread is about? Confused

The one on this post is the one that does NOT fold. So each time you use it, you have to take the powerhead that is hanging on a hook on the bottom part of it's extension tube then attach it to the top of the tube. When you are done you have to disconnect it and hang it back on the lower part of the tube, on the hook. In the picture above you can see a round dark spot, then a white area, then the beginning of the darker area of the tube. Just above where the darker area starts, you can see the hook that you hang the powerhead on. On the better units, the top part of the tube has a joint that locks and when your done just bend it down, no need to remove the power head for the vaccum to stand up on it's own. Hopefully that makes it a bit more clear.

We have an older Dyson V11 Animal that's starting to smell each time we use it. Wondering if this will perform the same. I swear the smell stinks like a burnt motor/odor. I wish buydig had this price on their eBay store so we can get the free 2 yr warranty for refurb.

Cordless = no unplugging and re plugging in every room and worrying about the cord tangling and whatnot. I'm sure it's not as powerful as a normal vacuum or something but the one I have is plenty for my needs. I'll honestly never go back to a corded vac.

I would only highly recommend the Shark IZ362H. I've owned this model for years and recently added 2 into my ecosystem when they went on deep discount. Do yourself a favor and buy Shark IZ362h and stay away from the rest in my opinion.

Here is one that DOES have that joint I was talking about, but it also does NOT have the dirt sensor. But at least you know what I mean by simply folding instead of having to take it apart each time you want to use it or put it away. https://www.ebay.com/itm/275552007289

I bought my V11 Animal in 2020. I would say the smell started about 2 years ago? I have tried my best to clean the inside and replaced filters but it still smells. It's to the point where my wife and I don't even want to use it for more than 2-3 minutes because of the smell.

Ugh, that seems like an awfully short lifespan before trouble starts..... maybe it's still under warranty ? I have several dysons myself and have had no trouble with any of them....(knock on wood). Hearing this makes me think twice about buying a v11, I almost bought one a few months back.

Do they warranty it if it just smells? I thought Dyson only has 1 year warranty as well unless I'm wrong?

smelling burning plastic isn't just smelling, that's indicator of failure or impending failure. None of my dysons smell like burning plastic. Also, seems like they have a 2 year warranty, might be good to check your purchase date to see if you are still within warranty.

Just take it into your local Dyson repair shop. They are usually very good with replacing bad parts often times for free. I bought mine refinished and after a few years, the brush assembly broke. I took it in and even though it was refurbished and definitely out of warranty, the gave me a new brush assembly for free. The same happened with my neighbor.
